This is a plea to the Murdoch press and all those Tories involved behind the attacks on Ed Miliband coming out in the media, FOR GOD SAKE STOP YOUR ATTACKS ON ED NOW and why?.

Two or three weeks ago we had Lord Freud come out with his comments saying that the Disabled were not worth the Minimum Wage and Scameron had the cheek to say that he did not speak for the government in the commons and yet what has happened since?, f...all I mean Scameron has not sacked him and yet now we have the situation were certain people are using every opportunity to pick on ED so this must STOP NOW.

If it is anyone who needs attacking and picking on it is Scameron over not sacking Lord Freud so come on lets for once have some sense can we.

Few things he can do is get his act together. that will castrate a lot of the material
needs to sort out his shadow Cabinet missed the chance for a major reshuffle but its time they came out of hiding and actually showed people who they are.
Drop the rubbish photo ops its clearly not his thing so STOP doing it.

Sadly that's the problem when you declare war on the Murdoch press give them one instance that's all they need. Shame Ed forgot about that just after he took over

If it continues then there could be a backlash on the Tories as the British public do not like to see someone who they think is being bullied. Sounds rather simplistic I know but from what I know of human nature then a reaction against the perceived bullying is on the cards.

Yeah to win Big Brother he's odds on - but will people want a leader for the country who is easy to bully?

He is just a poor politician. I feel sorry for those who feel they must vote labour due to cultural reasons and have Ed as the face of their party.

The observer and the guardian who have been leading with the ed stories the past couple of days aren't Murdoch and certainly aren't Tory.

Ed Miliband is useless and thoroughly deserves all the negative press he gets.

I think people would have more respect for Labour if they admit they have the wrong leader and change him.

But at the moment they just won't admit it.

If sky carry on like this I can see an Obama/fox news type situation forming. Sky love thinking they are the most watched news service (they aren't). We had the 2010 leaving the mic on with Gordon Brown and them running the recording for 10 hrs straight.

I wont ever like the guy as labour leader but the fact unnamed "sources" are being used non stop is worrying. I actually liked labours old view of sky it used to annoy the hell out of Adam Bolton the suggestion of Bias but it does raise the point would sky be giving a Cameron in trouble story the same amount of attention?

Take the recent leaders debate its what 6 months till the election and in 2010 they were vicious at the suggestion Brown was backing off. Its clear the other parties want the debates but Cameron and Co have issues but that's perfectly fine this time around. I just wonder if Adam and Kay will be as vocal if they fail to reach an agreement.

Dropping Douglas Alexander would be top on my list. His name will be 1st in the hat when a leadership contest happens.

Miliband doing a speech on the EU tomorrow its time to stop the wishy washy ideas and get those major companies to say what effect leaving the EU will have. If Ed wants to be in the EU then get some passion about it. It was complete madness he didn't have the idea of a referendum next year but stating he would be pushing for Yes vote on staying
that's covering all bases but also showing he understands the depth of feeling on the issue. Ignoring the problem hasn't helped him or Labour.

He needs to sort the Scottish betrayal also whoever thought teaming up with the Government was a good idea really needs sacking.

He needs to get more aggressive and state the case why he should be PM what he can do differently and why people need to realise having Charisma isn't everything sitting back and ignoring everything has been a bloody disaster.

Urr the attacks originate within the Labour party, as large numbers of MPs have lost all confidence in Ed. Why is reporting this seen as an 'attack'?

You can't really blame the Murdoch press for putting the boot into Ed. After all, he did stand up to them over Hackgate and effectively forced Cameron to set up Leveson, In fact Ed has been quite an effective leader of the opposition, because he also stopped Cameron from going to war over Syria.

But he does have an image problem and today image is seen to be everything. That's why Labour politicians have the jitters.

They need to show some spine and ride the storm, because ,while Cameron may be getting higher ratings I don't think he's exactly Gandhi or Kennedy or Churchill.

In fact, while Cameron is an image specialist, ironically that's also his weakness, because he's perceived as having no substance. Rather like Ed, he's a man not too acquainted with the real world. So Cameron's personal rating lead is probably quite lowly geared, which is why it hasn't translated into a general poll lead.

Call me cynical if you like, but I have the feeling that the right wing media know a leadership contest is impossible, so they egging the Labour people on, to damage the party not him. He is the rights best chance of winning so I doubt they actually want him to step down and be replaced with someone much more popular.

I am a card carrying fee paying Labour Party member and it is my right to criticise or praise our esteemed liability, so I will pick at him like the infected two faced scab he is.

If he paid me a fair salary for writing for one of his rags I'd take his shilling.

When Dead Millibland screws things up it will be us grassroots members who will pick up the pieces while he swans away to a few directorships.

This creation of Murdoch as a bogeyman by the left is just bizarre. It must stem from 1992.* Do some folks even know what papers he controls?

So basically you want people to hound someone YOU want them to hound for not sacking someone over a comment blown out of context. Were your ancestors the type who demanded the authorities burn women as witches for owning a cat by any chance?

He is probably a very nice person but when he put in for MP and Leader he must have been fully aware that his speech and geek like looks would be an obvious disadvantage, likely to attract unfavourable comment. But even if those aspects are accepted he still scores low in the charisma stakes, in common with other members of the Westminster gang on offer as leaders.

Mostly agree with that, but I do think he was a bit arrogant putting himself forward as leader,in the current image obsessed politics he was the last person Labour needed to fight an election, and ultimately his decision has screwed his party over.

I'm struggling to see whether you really want to defend Miliband or merely wanted an excuse to vent your spleen on Cameron.

Is this what it's come to? Electoral plan B? "Don't say bad things, It's only fun when we do it"

Labour may find it more worthwhile directing this plea towards their own party.

On the other hand the public quite enjoy seeing bullies get what's coming to them and Labour have spent the last 30 years relentlessly smearing anyone (including the public themselves) who has the cheek to hold a different opinion to Labour doctrine.

The illusion that Labour are the "nice" party is long since dead and their chickens are coming home to roost.

We want this man to stand up to Putin or Mugabe or the North Korean leader.

It's a bit pathetic to say stop picking on him. He wants to be our leader - so needs a backbone. If you cannot cope get out of politics.
