Are we expecting any change in the Sky commentary structure this season with Hawthorne, Tyler and Parry as the main commentators or will we finally see Leslie and/or Mann overtake Parry in the pecking order?
I highly doubt that they will give Fletcher ALL the big games. He probably meant that he will get a majority but it is very unfair on Darke.
I think people are reading a bit too much into this, to be honest. As far as Fletcher is concerned, every game on BT is a big game. He's not going to say "No, I'm doing some rubbish ones as well". I'm sure he means that BT have loads of big games, not him personally.
I recorded this and Leicester vs PSG, but then did my usual pre-season thing of looking at the kits and the line-ups and then not watching a minute of the match. Sounded like Gary Weaver and Terry Gibson on Leicester, though they weren't introduced.

I think he's talking nonsense but it's interesting he's being that opinionated on US TV, don't think it would be encouraged from a mainstream football commentator on UK TV. I recall when he had to apologise for calling Luis Suarez a cheat on ESPN UK, because the comment had upset some Liverpool supporting subscribers.

A rain delay of about 80 minutes between the first half ending and the second half eventually beginning meant that both Wayne and Jen both had to wait until commentary could re-start. Whilst 'Eurosport HQ' cobbled together some WATTS bits and a re-run of the San Sebstian Cycling race held yesterday as an 'inbetweener' we had them essentially talk for a good 15 minutes over pitctures of the groundstaff with shovels, mops, wooden brooms or whatever they could get their hands on!
I've just caught the Alfie's Boys documentary that BBC Two made about England's 1966 World Cup win. I'd actually recorded it the first time it aired around the beginning of Euro 2016, but hadn't got round to watching it until it was repeated this evening (a day after the anniversary of the final). It was a really enjoyable watch with lots of good archive footage - from the familiar to clips I hadn't seen before. It was nice to see them calling upon almost all of the squad or people representing those who have died or aren't in the best of health these days. For those of you who aren't totally sick of "66 and all that" nostalgia by now, this is well worth catching, and even those who are sick of the hype might make an exception for a programme that looks at the team as individuals and being a product of that particular point in time rather than purely in terms of the sporting achievement.

We saw shots of a BBC TV panel anchored by David Coleman discussing a few incidents, notably Nobby Stiles' foul in the build-up to the first goal in the England v France group game. One of the three pundits was the unmistakable Jimmy Hill, another was introduced as Billy and I think may have been Billy Wright, the other I didn't recognise. So to those whose memories go back 50 years and/or are archivists, am I right about Wright and who was the other panellist? Interesting to see some punditry wrapped around what I assume was highlights or a magazine show, as notoriously the first World Cup panels during live games are widely credited as having come on ITV's coverage of Mexico 70.

And as Brian Moore pointed out, they also tried to get some controversial people as opposed to the rather bland punditry previously.
Anyway, the BBC pundits paraded in the Radio Times for the 1966 World Cup are Walter Winterbottom, Billy Wright, Joe Mercer, Don Revie, Ron Greenwood, Arthur Ellis, Tommy Docherty, Ken Aston, Johnny Haynes, Jimmy Hill and Danny Blanchflower.

A complainant alerted Ofcom to one of the commentators referring to a player as “coloured”, which they found offensive.
The word in question featured in the following description of a passage of play by Jack Charlton:
“Paul Power did terrific; he sold two lovely dummies there. But when the ball came in to the little coloured boy there he turned on it the wrong way I felt…”
For me GN wil not have the same impact as he did before, no one will take him seriously he is a failed manager, he has got no credibility at all, pontificating about other teams faults, and how they should improve.
I can imagine the likes of Mouhrino, Wenger, Cunte, will be shouting at their screens " You know nothing about football"!!!
