Lots of the Scots folk here call it 'preemark', I think it's a regional aberration. But I think the pronunciation should be 'prymark' with the pri pronounced as in primary or primate

I'm with you and call the outlet "Prim-ark".

Not that I'd ever go in there.

The spelling is Primark. If it was pronounces Preemark it would have been spelt with an "e"" or rather two "e"
One would not call the term π r² pee are squared would you?

Try these words using pree instead of pry
    private
    privileged
    principle
    primary
    primates
    prime

So it follow that pri should be pronounced pry

Here is the BBCs pronunciation of the word —

Definitely prymark. I've only ever heard one person call it preemark and I must admit I cringed so much especially when they were adamant it was the correct way to pronounce it :p

Thats exactly the opposite to how I feel, Over here in N.I the only time you hear it pronounced Prymark is when you hear some English person talking about it on the radio and you think to yourself WTF?

Well, as it's an *I* and not an *ee* I'd say Pr*i*mark. Preemark seems to be rather an affectation.

Pry. When I first heard of it though, the person who introduced it to me said it as pree, I called it that for a while :/.
