Its not laugh out loud comedy but I do like it a lot. Jane Horrocks has always been a star and very underated to me and to see her in this again makes me very happy. I
t's very clever observation wise as I can relate it to my local ASDA.
I like Trollied but can't abide Jane Horrocks, her style of acting belongs in an episode of Terry an June. It's supposed to be "real people" but her constant gurning for the camera breaks the illusion. Don't wanna be negative cos i like the show but whenever she appears i start to wonder when the vicars trousers are gonna fall down!
I was a bit underwhelmed by series 1 but there were lots of laugh-out-loud moments in tonight's two episodes which bodes well for the rest of series 2. I adore Stephanie Beacham and I thought she was brilliant as Lorraine.
Very funny programme, as a manager of a supermarket I can relate to it very much, in fact I can see so many of my staff in the characters! A must watch for anyone who works in that sort of environment
I really enjoyed it. Stephanie Beecham is a great addition to the cast.
The two customer service girls had a great relationship last series and I loved them, but it seemed a bit forced last night. And has the older one had bad dental work? Her teeth looked huge!
I watched the last series occasionally, but didn't really find it engaging enough to watch every episode. However I really enjoyed the start of this series, and agree with those who thought Stephanie Beacham character is a great addition to the cast.
She's fabulous as the straight talking, swearing and dragonesque boss, I loved her cackling at the dirty joke and telling Andy 'do I look like a woman who is scared to sack someone?'. I think that it's partly because I know quite a few women like this and yet it's a confident portrayal of older women that you don't see that often on screen. Anyway, she's great and if the script will does her and the other actors justice it will be a good series.
Watched the two episodes this morning. I agree with other posters, Stephanie Beecham makes a great addition to the cast. Liking the Colin and Lisa interaction!
I watched a couple of episodes of the first series, but lost interest halfway through. I watched Friday's show because of Stephanie Beacham and loved it. Far superior to rubbish like Citizen Khan!
While it's not groundbreaking, it's definitely funny and a very truthful portrayal of a supermarket. Having worked in a supermarket with a very similar colourscheme for 3 years when I was at uni, I've seen most (if not all) of what goes on at Valco first hand. People shagging in the warehouse, rivalry on the counters, idle gossip at the Customer Service desk (where I worked!)
Also, Stephanie Beacham was marvellous. Though, when she first appeared, I thought that it was Hilary Devey!
Loved it. SB was (as always) fantastic. Kieron still as gorgeous as ever. Started to panic in ep 1 when Katie was nowhere to be seen (and not mentioned either), so was delighted to see her back in ep 2. Lovely understated story between her and Kieron IMO.
Vast improvement over the first series, watched the last one of the first series before it to catch up and the difference in quality was very noticeable-Very Funny and Stephanie Beacham is great!

Reminds me of Hilary Devey
I thought of her straight away too... Such a great character
Stephanie must be on some kind of contract with Sky 1 because she's got a recurring role in this series of Mount Pleasant too!
Me too and her classic line 'hey love, I could never work with you, you'd make my foot itch'

Do you mean he worked on the bread counter? haha

I thought i recognised his voice.
