Have been avoiding the BBC all week. Thought it might be safe to watch Question Time tonight but apparently not. The bizzare, out of touch obsession with Mandella continues stronger than ever.
Is This Week live from Pretoria or is it possible it might actually cover something other than how utterly fabulous Mandella was?
Been quite a busy week in politics as well with lots to discuss like the recent budget statement and MPs salaries.
the BBC has lost all sense of perspective on the Mandela issue. As others have said, where is someone on the panel who will be critical of Mandela? Where is the balance? It will he a complete lovefest. I bet the ratings for tonight's show. are far lower than usual
Will tonight Nolan and Piensar accept a call on five live tonight suggesting "what the f*****g hell was the bbc wasting so much money on giving 120 bbc employees a free holiday ???"
Somehow I think the bbc will forget about freedom of speech tonight...
Not as much as Obama. He's still the king on there. Although some might say he deserves it. Tbh I don't think I've ever seen a news station more obsessed another person than (possibly MSNBC in America) than what the BBC had for Obama during his two elections!
Although I don't quite see the point of QT coming from South Africa (even if Mandela has just kicked the bucket), it is interesting to wonder if programmes like this are the norm out there.
well I'm quite relieved by the response on here, I was beginning to think it was just me and my work mates who'd had enough of it and couldn't really care anyway......and we all work in television!.

It is interesting, but it belongs on News 24 so the newshounds can lap it up.
followed the public outrage expressed by individuals when Mngxitama called on ”true Bikoists” to physically assault Jared Sacks, a journalist, for his forthright article on Mamphela Ramphele.
It doesn't seem to be the Mandela love in some people thought. Most if the audience seem to have the attitude that now the peace preaching Mandela has gone let's go out and forcefully take everything.

This does not belong on mainstream BBC.

At least political correctness hasn't reached Africa !
Try a decade under Mugabe style rule- they won't be so bombastic, then.

Yes, she's the only one not being swayed by the black v white debate.
Chap in red beret is a reactionary fool, though.
