Have you ever boycotted or refused to watch a TV show or film?

I do not watch The Undateables on C4 as I thought the advertising campaign leading up to the pilot was in bad taste. I watched a couple of episodes afterwards and was pleased to see that it wasn't taking the mickey out of the people involved, but because of the way it was advertised I didn't remain a viewer.

I also don't watch anything with Mel Gibson or Mark Whalberg in it for their racist rants/actions

No..because that would just be silly if a programme/film was good.

I don't watch any soaps because I have an addictive personality, I know once I started I wouldn't be able to stop and life is definitely too short!

I think my refusal to sit down with a girlfriend to watch the X Factor may have contributed to the end of a relationship.

    Yes, loads.
Any programmes with Gypsies in, x factor and all the rest, anything with Michael Buble in, The Royle Family, Mrs Browns Boys, any of those TOWIE type programmes.

Yes, because there is so much rubbish on. X Factor, Celebrity Juice, and Eastenders are three I can't abide for starters.

I've deliberately never watched anything originating from Simon Cowell because the man makes my skin crawl.

I'm definitely with you on that one.

I can't bring myself to watch anything with Mel Gibson in either.

I will not have any of the Simon Cowell stable of shows on - he sets up unrealistic expectations of very young and vunerable people and drops them like a hot rock as soon as they stop making him money.

Nor will I have various reality shows such as Big Brother, I'm a celebrity - and the like - but that is not on moral grounds except possibly BB which is only on for the voyeristic thrill of seeing a couple have sex - otherwise the few times I have caught it when looking at other programmes on C4 and now C5 it has been a tedious bore.

Those 3 are on my list plus a few more of that type.

Anything medically freaky, usually on C4, The Man With A 10 foot Fecal Compaction, that sort of thing, televisual junk food for the weak of brain.

Piers Morgan programme because it features Piers Morgan

The first channel to show Babestation was Game Network, and I stopped watching the channel on principle as a result. Having the show on the videogames channel made gamers look bad, and more importantly it was taking (to begin with) two hours of the channel away each night.

Anything that smacks of freak-show and poverty porn gets no time from me - anything that is about "upward" makeovers/property likewise. Piers Morgan and stuff like Loose Women/Trisha/Jeremy Kyle obviously!

Look, just assume I avoid almost anything/everything not on BBC4.

Yes, usually based on the person presenting it e.g. anything with Jeremy Clarkson, Dan Snow, Lucy Worsley, Richard Hammond, etc. etc.

I boycotted Buster because they turned a nasty, violent robbery into a light hearted fun caper. Having now seen it, I wish I'd boycotted it for being shit and having Phil Collins in it.
