    I have seen 3 of these so far, it appears to be itv's retirement plan for ex soap actors (In much the same way that Last of the summer Wine was for Comedy actors):D

    My (soon to be proved, wildly inaccurate) prediction is that the swimming coach is having an affair with Bernice and that he broke the inhaler of the girl, in order to stop her from taking the place of Bernice's daughter in the swimming team.
