When will you be taking your decorations down?

Tomorrow I will be taking down the Christmas cards and all the other bits and pieces stuck around the house, The tree I will have down at some stage before NYD probably over the weekend.

    We take ours down the first Saturday of January - so ours will be coming down on the 4th.

    Exactly! It's once a year and it took ages to put up so it's staying until 5th as I go back to work on 6th :(

    That strikes me as hating Christmas and only having them up because you have too.

    Mine are coming down Sunday night. Nobody will be coming round after that time, so I no longer have to make any pretence. It's in the bloody way as it is, and the cat keeps playing with the baubles. She's had it down once !!!

    I think people believe that so that the decorations are up for the 12 days of Christmas. Well, as people put them up before Christmas they are more likely to celebrate 24 days of Christmas!

    I take mine down on Sunday night (29th) so that I can treat this weekend as being the Christmas weekend then enjoy a long New Year from Monday to Wednesday, without the double anticlimax afterwards.

    Leave them up all year and save time come December! I wonder if anyone does this? Wasn't there a tv program about a family who celebrates Christmas everyday?
