A good start for Molly over on the esc-stats poll, after just one day on the poll she has already scored more points than Estonia, France and Lithuania.

She has also scored 37 top marks, the only countries with more are the current top 4 (Hungary, Italy, Spain and Poland). If she continues at the same pace she looks set to probably be just ahead of current leader Hungary.

I'm not quite sure how they work out a countries points once it reaches 100% chart time though. I don't know if it starts to lose the votes which were sent in at the start or how they manage to make it so it doesn't get an unfair advantage over those sent earlier on. The site doesn't really make that bit clear.

I wouldn't really go by that site too much. As you can see Hungary is the favourite - 556 people have said it was there fave. 383 People from Hungary have voted.

Compare that to the Wiwi result!

Both escforum.net and escunited.com seem to be loving it so far with quite a lot of supporters, most of the negativity comes from the UK...

It might be worth keeping in mind though that these fan forum polls usually have nothing much to do with the actual results (I learnt that the hard way a few times...) ;)

You were robbed in 2012, När jag blundar should have been top three in the Final. I love that song!

Me too! I remember going out jogging on a warm spring day and it came on my iPod, it matched the rural scenery so well. :)

There's an article in one of France's most popular and current music magazine's (Pure Charts) about 'Children of the Universe'...Very positive article..

    www.chartsinfrance.net/eurovision/news-90899.html

Just to translate if anybody's interested - I'll leave out the bit about Bonnie being the UK entry last year....."Discovered via BBC Introducing, the writer composer Molly Smitten Downes will debut with her song 'Children of the Universe' with a theme tailored for Eurovision. An introduction held by powerful supporting singers, modern beat going crescendo and a powerful voice. The pop song, somewhere between Ellie Goulding and Katy B will possibly be able to suprise everybody. Also not so unknown, she's been supporting act for Jake Bugg, Tinie Tempah, Labrinth and Chase & Status. Its worth noting that the United Kingdom has won the Eurovision Song Contest 5 times. The last time with Katrina and the Waves in 1997.

Katy B was actually the first person I thought she was like! Don't know why, just I could imagine it being her song...

Interestingly, users post their song rankings on youtube on a daily basis (i.e 'Eurovision - My top 20' etc). I've yet to see Molly ranked outside of the top 5.

On this Spanish Eurovision site, Hungary, the UK and Romania are the top 3. It's good to see that 'Children of the Universe' is appealing to people outside the UK, and considering that the UK entry has only been available for less than a week, whilst Hungary and Romania have been available for quite some time longer..i think Molly is doing really well..

A last minute surge of Romanian votes on the wiwi poll pushed Molly into second place, just before the poll closed.

Ah well. There's always next week...

Don't get the how the Romanian entry is doing so well, surely they can't see that as the winning song, its really not that good

    New update from escforum:

    01. United Kingdom - 630
    02. Sweden - 568
    03. Poland - 423
    04. Italy - 402
    05. Hungary - 401
    06. Israel - 317
    07. France - 314
    08. Spain - 284
    09. Finland - 263
    10. Montenegro - 259
    11. Macedonia - 212
    12. Ireland - 207
    13. Albania - 200
    14. Romania - 198
    15. Denmark - 193
    16. Estonia - 179
    17. Lithuania - 165
    18. Switzerland - 143
    19. Malta - 141
    20. Slovenia - 89
    21. Iceland - 69
    22. Latvia - 68
    23. Belarus - 63
    24. Ukraine - 62

UK still out in front, some people complaining it's only winning because UK people are voting for it, but only Sweden is close and they get home voters and votes just because it's Sweden, so feel it offsets itself.

Not sure how they are going to fit in a new round as their seems to be a song review everyday now until the deadline, so may not get another new round until all songs are known.

So Molly is getting the kind of response Emmelie got last year - does anyone else feel weirdly reluctant to believe it's happening, purely because the UK hasn't ever really had this reaction before?

I just wish the odds reflected it better.

I think the bookies may get burned this year going after Norway as the favourite.

People generally seem to think it's the only one which sounds like a winner at the moment, Emmelie was pretty much thought of as a locked on winner early on which isn't really the case with Molly however.

I get the impression that if "Silent Storm" is chosen it may get a "Sognu" type result. It's not something the general public can really connect with and he doesn't seem to be selling it well, so I can't really see where it's big votes are going to come from.
