"The only way I want to see Geri Halliwell draped in a union flag again is if she dies in battle."
Lady Gaga:
"I was 13 when the Spice Girls were really really big and whenever we would do talent shows at school, I would always be Ginger. Things came full circle because I got to meet her, it was really exciting. She told me that she was 24 when she first started too."
Robbie Williams (This month after singing Eternity in Leeds):
"That was written about the lovely Geri Halliwell. She's had her knockers hasn't she... Actually she's a f*cking good friend. She's great to hang out with and I send Geri all my love. I'm sure that'll make its way through Twitter and twatter.."
George Clooney:
"She was always my favorite Spice Girl; I loved her feisty approach and the fact she wasn't afraid to have an opinion. Her work with Unicef and (sexual health charity) Marie Stopes in the Third World was inspiring. And her address at a UN Youth summit in 2000 was brave - it's so easy to not get involved and she just gritted her teeth and went for it."
Barbara Walters:
"Geri Halliwell and The Spice Girls burst onto the scene in 1996 ...they were the biggest British invasion since the Beatles... but from the beginning Geri was the Spice that stood out. When I sat down with her for high tea, she was conservatively dressed and not at all what I expected."
Piers Morgan:
"Geri is a global icon. A flawed one, a complicated one and a mischievous little minx. From Watford to Hollywood - she is one of the most iconic women of the last two decades."
Alan Carr:
She was so boring[backstage at The FNP]. I think all that LA sunshine has gone to her head. She was all astrology this, and astrology that. I get bored just talking about it."
"The Olympics and Paralympics finally came to an end [this week]...If I had to pick one moment that summed up the sheer will to overcome a disibility it would have to be Geri Halliwell going for a high C in the Spice Girls Medley at the Closing Ceremony. Good for you, Geri!"
Original Spice Girls 'manager' and recently sacked X Factor Consultant Chris Herbert:
"After missing the initial audition stages, she came in when we were already down to the final 12 as bold as brass. She bounced into the room, just gave us some cheeky line and won us over with personality alone."
Regarding his time 'managing' the group: "Behind the scenes she had been convincing the other girls that they needed to take a faster route to get there. I heard that she had taken one of the demo tapes and stuck it down her knickers as a means to smuggle it out and that's Geri, that's the kind of thing she would do."
Regarding subsequent success: "She drew from the preceding Pop Queens before her and as a result took the crown from them and now owns that 90's pop era."
Adele:
"I was the biggest Spice Girls fan ever. They were my life - they still are! Best band ever. Geri was my favorite but then she broke my heart and left so now Mel B is my favorite."

Considering you are celebrating Frankie Boyle insulting Geri, I think you should do your homework, too!
Whether people like it or not, Halliwell is an irritant and a annoyance to many.

I'm not knocking her success- it's her self obsession and manipulation of the media I can't stand
I can't bear her
Also you need to do some homework in relation to the correct use of the word there
I know it was her biggest solo hit but Geri has waaay better songs in her solo back catalogue than It's Raining Men.
Bag It Up is the best one!
She has an amazing catalogue of songs. But i think Its Raining Men is her signature tune.
I hope she performs Look At Me aswell a jazz version be outta this world for me. I would love Geri to do a jazz album one day

Yes i know
I prefur Geri's version to The Weather Girls. She made it her own imo. The video is amazing, The live performances are brilliant. I cant wait to see what she does with it this time round.

Fair enough
I liked the spice girls but I just am not a fan of geri herself
She's been attempting to relaunch her solo career since the Spice Girls performed at the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony in August.
And taking to the stage for her first solo gig in seven years on Wednesday night, Geri Halliwell shocked onlookers with a surprise rendition of the band's first hit, Wannabe.

I thought her best work was with her first album, Mi Chico Latino & BIU being her two best for me, I bought both singles back in 1999

Official Geri Halliwell Facebook
A sneak peak of her performance will be on her page TONIGHT and full video TOMORROW.
Second song is a solo version of Wannabe. Slowed down...and sounds great. Great arrangement. Wish the other girls were here to hear it!
Geri's been having hardcore vocal lessons with David Grant...and it's worked well. I'm impressed.
And now on to It's Raining Men...I want Mi Chico Latino! Joined by six male dancers now.
Sneeky pic
Wow i cant wait to see this when its uploaded so exciting

Jeez............she's really not much of a singer.
There's a clip in the above link but it'll probably appeal only to her fans because a casual listener couldn't possibly be impressed by it.
She's no Mariah Carey, she's never claimed to be!
Very proud.
