Guardian article on 20 years of Father Ted http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/apr/20/father-ted-legacy-20-years-on-up-with-this-sort-of-thing

Hard to believe it's twenty years old, I watched some episodes at the weekend and it's still as fresh and funny as ever.

I know, as much as I love it I did think the celebration should have been named 18 years of repeats of Father Ted

*Down with this sort of thing*

They've devalued its currency. It used to be a treat, now its a fixture.

That would be an ecumenical matter.

    "My lovely horse,
    running through the field
    Where are you going,
with your fetlocks blowing in the wind?

I want to shower you with sugar lumps,
    and ride you over fences
Polish your hooves every single day,
and bring you to the horse dentist

My lovely horse, you're a pony no more
Running around with a man on your back,
like a train in the night............"

This is going to be stuck in my head all night now :D

Love Father Ted but I've saw every episode about 100 times. Find it hard to pick a favourite episode, would probably have to be 'Kicking Bishop Brennan Up The Arse'. Favourite character is definitely Dougal.

I fancy a bit of Ted now, which of Ch4's channels usually repeats it?

Dougal: God, I've heard about those cults Ted. People dressing up in black and saying Our Lord's going to come back and save us all.

Ted: No, Dougal, that's us. That's Catholicism.

    Dougal: Oh right.
