I'm Getting Really Fed Up With People saying "100 Per Cent"!...

....Aren't you?

It seems to be the latest "in term" and I find these "In terms" so annoying in general. Over the last 20 years I can think of "Respect, Believe, Man Up" and now this" being in terms and I wish they would never come about and people to stop being so sheepish in the "vocabulary" they use!

I find it better than those who say they'll give something '110%'.

I mean, why not go for 111% or perhaps a billion percent whilst they're at it!!

No I find phrases like "at the end of the day!" much more annoying.

I don't mind that one so much as its not said that often and it means someone going beyond the call of duty which is a good thing. "100 per cent" is being said in a street accent way too and that irks me even more.

That was another annoying in term but around the year 2000. Not used that much now.

Has he been saying it as well?! I stopped watching X factor around 2008. If he has been saying it, that probably is the reason why its suddenly crept in as an "in term"! >:(

Its high time ITV scrapped the X factor. Its gone on for far too long already and I can't believe people haven't tired of it.

I quite often say I'm 99.999% sure of something. The number of 9s I say varies. It's just my say of saying I'm almost, but not quite, certain of something. :D

I can't understand why some people say that. Instead of just saying "totally agree".

I'm not aware of anyone saying it, so I'm clearly mixing with the wrong people (or perhaps that should be the right people). :)

I do however find "Giving 110% annoying" and when a sign on a block of 15 new flats proclaimed "90% sold" I did wonder who had bought half a flat who who would buy the other half". :D

Yes it is very annoying, Caprice used it so many times on This Week last week, I almost headbutted the screen.

People starting sentences with "so" is far more annoying than anything throughout history.

So, I watched this thing on TV last night
So, I wondered lonely as a cloud
So, if you wannabe my lover, you gotta get with my friends

I might start a drinking game while watching The Apprentice - every time one of them mentions they will 'give 110%' , I'll take a shot. Though I fear I'll be dead by the end of the series.

The new (annoying) thing to say is that you're gonna 'smash it!'.
    It sounds naff imo.
    For e.g. We've got a pitch today - I'm gonna smash it!
My football team they're definitely gonna smash it...etc

On a scale of 1 to 100, how close were you to doing it?

Unless you're watching Jeremy Kyle. Everything is 'at the end of the day'!

No why should I? If it conveys the sense of what they want to communicate then why shouldn't they and why should I be bothered about it?

Yes because that is possible but you can't give 110% of something that it is only possible to have 100% of e.g. your potential effort.

Yeah, that annoys me more. Often hear it in football post match interviews, "The team gave 110%", no they didn't, it's impossible.

I've noticed that, maybe whoever designed the iPlayer is a fan of This Is Spinal Tap.
