'Anita Anand (who presents "Any Questions") would be a good choice. She's a pleasure to listenable to - intelligent, polite and has a beautiful speaking voice.'

I think she presents Any Answers .... I have stopped listening . Awful. >:(

Andrew "Noos" Pierce pronounces the word 'news' as 'noos'. He's talking about drugs. His Toryboy act with the odious champagne socialist Kevin Maguire is utterly unbearable and even on his own it's appalling.
I heard James O'Brien saying "Noos" in the past week.

    It's dreadful.

    Bliss= 2 Conservatives on Olly's news panel.

Much better than those immature left-wing 'comedians' we often hear.

Flybe.com. Five European destinations at £29.99 one way.
You notice that they don't mention how much it costs to come back!

Cristo having an Agony hour including mucho psychobabble. Cannot see him somehow as another Anna Raeburn....he's being criticised by tweeters for getting aggressive.

Stewie tweeting that he's got a tickly cough and that it's back to bed after the show.

Surely there was time to get a stand-in, the sound of someone constantly coughing does NOT make a good programme.

Steve has had some bad coughing sessions. He has some Manuka honey with him but, can't honey sometimes tickle more an irritated throat although supposedly a remedy?

Instead of taking a couple of days off, Steve chooses to come in to work and infect everybody else. It's not a pleasant listen.

    Morning all. :)

I wish Steve will stop coughing on air! I think if it doesn't get better he should take the day off tomorrow but, as I said before I think SA is a bit of a workaholic

Well done to Steve Allen for getting through today's show and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Not sure it was wise to discuss approaches to conversation with Des but still a nice 30 minutes.

Sorry Dr Death, but the Queen Mother did drink Gin and Dubonnet but that is not a Gin and 'It' as I'm sure that means Gin and Italian Vermouth?
I would also suggest that you take a few days off to give that Larynx a rest.

Oh no! I thought we'd seen the back of Larry Lamb. Farewell appearance, I hope.

Maybe another week as Petrie said she has two more programmes with Stig.

Don't work don't get paid. Steve probably struggles through and spends most of the day in bed.

Next week, I expect that Global staff will start calling in sick now the air conditioning carries his bad germs.

I don't want to hear constant coughing on air, it's unprofessional.

I agree with both points here. Constant coughing on air does not sound professional, but the guy is entitled to earn a living.

What would the alternative have been, roping in a co-presenter?

Quite enjoyed Stig and Petri this morning.

Nothing I like better than hearing a politician squirm :)

For that read, I'm bored out out of my mind at home and so I'll come into work.

Does the sparkly jacket get another airing out today ready for New Years Day.

The usual suspects will be in the front row thinking Deja Vu.

Let's hope they're all wearing surgical masks in case Steve showers them with his germs. :o

No they won't. They'll be thinking.... "Isn't he great?'

Yep I don't think it's related to what's happening in the countryside, it seemed to begin when we went over to using black sacks for rubbish instead of the hard lidded bins. The foxes soon learn which streets to scavenge in on which nights. It has to be easier for them than trying to catch well-guarded chickens on farm land.

Just catching up after Christmas. In our borough, we have plastic bins for rubbish, and the foxes can't get into them. We have plenty of foxes around, as there's a woodland environment nearby, but they don't scavenge and they don't cause a problem. The way to solve the urban fox problem, IMO, is for ALL councils to be required to provide solid bins for domestic rubbish. The foxes would learn pretty quickly that they wouldn't get fed around houses, and they'd get back to coexisting with humans and doing fox stuff, instead of depending on them for food. It's not a fox problem, it's a human problem.

I don't know but do self-employed have insurance they can take out, for loss of earnings if they are sick?

The replacement would be LBC's problem and not Steve's.

They need someone like Paul Ross whose answering machine said something like "yes I will do it" !!

If he is off Tomorrow we will more than likely have to put up with Cristo!
