Samsung DVD Laser Unit

Hi

Is it easy to purchase these and fit then yourself ?

If it is could somebody point me in the right direction please.

    If you mean the laser in the drive, forget about it, its easier to just buy another player..they are so cheap these days.

    Usually you have to replace the entire DVD mech, which isn't a bad job, but probably costs far too much to be worth doing.

    I have been looking to replace the DVD but can't seem to find one the same, unless I buy the full Cinema system again.

    It is a Samsung HTX 250 System.

    You've now realised why sensible people never buy all in one systems :)

    The big trouble with these things is that if one component goes wrong that is it. If you cannot get it sensibly repaired you are stuffed. You either do without or are forced to replace the entire system.

    If you had a DVD player and AV system then you would only be looking to replace the DVD. You could still be using the amp for TV sound or Sky, cable TV, games console or whatever kit you have.
