I cant record other programes that are free to air on other satellites using this box. No timer recordings or now and next
recordings are possible , you can only record by pressing the record button when the program is on which is a joke I know it was designed for freeview but you should be at least able to set a timer for any program.
There are fta spanish programes on astra 19.2 and I am trying to learn spanish ,so it would be great to be able to record them when I am out at work .

I assume your talking about the Humax PVR. If so, for some reason Humax have designed it this way. Thats my understanding from a review in Wotsat. Apparantly Humax have no plans to issue an update. Seems daft to me.

Yes, Humax have been on here before saying that this was due to the rigidity of the freesat+ specs, although Freesat have recently been quoted as saying they want STB manufacturers to be more flexible in their design of these boxes, including non-freesat features.

So, I haven't entirely given up on better timer facilities in non-freesat mode, but I doubt whether it is high on Humax's list of priorities

I haven't tried this but might be worth a shot. Set the Humax to wake up on the channel you want a few minutes before the programm you want is due to start. Connect a video recorder to the SCART and set that to record AV1 or whatever at the same time. This is a trick I used to good effect on my poxy Pace and it might work for this situation also. It could be worse, as I had to use a mechanical timer on the mains for the poxy Pace
I read somewhere on here that the approach from Humax is the Foxsat HDR has a prime function for Freesat. Thus non-Freesat is not a priority for them and those using multiple satellites are even further down the food chain. However as the hidden menu for multiple satellites is an open secret it could be much worse. Overall I'm happy!

Thank's for you replies .
I don't think a basic timer in non-freesat mode is a lot to ask for it should easy to implement , plus its another selling point for them as the freeview people have said , a bit more flexability would be welcome.

Actually I didn't check, or comment on your spelling, although I could have

I NEVER comment on any post's spelling, I would consider that rude.

Clarifying that it was Freesat, rather than Freeview, was entirely reasonable.

Many, not so experienced as yourself, visit these forums, and read these posts long after they are current, and many get mixed up between Freeview & Freesat, especially as it did relate to my earlier post. That's why I was clarifying.

Rgds.
