Sausage rolls, Supreme Cornish, Bacon & Cheese wrap (they're divine! but few Greggs do them), those cheese pizza things and their sandwiches are ok.

For it's only 2 things - the plain ham & cheese roll (it's the only one that doesn't have veg in it) and the pizza baguette thing. But then, I'm sure if I lived closer to one I'd try more of their stuff.

Nor me, a bit too 'up market' IMO.

I live in the Northest West and have never heard of Sayers.

We have plenty of branches of Greggs though, and quite a few Routledges too. I don't go in them but my husband does, they are a lot cheaper than a baguette shop or even a supermarket sarnie!

They are always full of schoolkids when I walk by.

I quite like their egg mayo on brown bread sandwiches, of the hot food another vote for sausage rolls, but they aren't that good, I'd still opt for one of the local bakers instead.

We have 3 within our town, One of them, always has cold food, so don't go in that one much but the one in the centre (YUM), anyways, I like
-Sausage Rolls, (Very Very Yummy, only like them hot)
-Ham Sandwiches
-White Chocolate Cookies
-and The scooby do novelty biscuits they have on at the moment

As for drinks, i like the Coffee, Tea and the YUMMY Hot Chocolate.

The humble sausage roll, so simple, yet so perfect.

Ah, that warm pastry smell and rustle of a paper bag.

Reaches coat, checks pocket for change and heads for the door.

In Cardiff, there's one Greggs for every three people, but they're always a queue... It's probably becasue the Steak Bakes are so great, although here is the Corned Beef Pasty that's popular which is SO WRONG. CORNED BEEF? There is something very very disturbing about that.

I like their chargrilled chicken rolls.

However I usually end up getting a sausage roll. At the moment they are doing 2 for 99p. The strength and determination it takes to say, no just the one thank you, is huge.

Greggs is not that appealing when it is the only sandwich/baker shop in close proximity of work. I can't bear Dreggs now...

I'd love to see a Greggs and a Subway next to each other, just to see what would happen.

I bought a suasage roll from a Gregs once and it put me off them for life. It was horrible. It was really greasy and the pastry was sort of tough at the edges and mushy in the middle. The "sausage" component of the roll had an awful texture, more like very hot meat style pate than a propper sausage. That too was very very greasy and incredibly, incredibly salty. I had two bites and chucked it in the bin. It was the worst sausage roll I have ever had in my life and it has put me off ever using the place ever again.
More like Old Gregs.

Very lucky where i live in that we have a fantastic butchers that also does bakery on the premises, the muffins , sausage rolls , meat pies , lancashire hot pots etc are just superb , full of proper ingredients & it doesnt cots any more than Greggs salt, processed dog food laden stuff , the food that Greggs sells looks rubbery & the sausage rolls look more suited as door wedges. You see plenty of fat scroats at the ones in Blackpool town centre. At Mrs Sheepdogs nursery one of the parents nyon lives off greggs food, pram is just full of bags / wrappers from the place.

We have a Sayers and a Greggs virtually next door to one another. I always feel sorry for the staff at Sayers because most people just go past them and straight into Greggs.

Sayers is a poor imitation.

I always get a meat and potato pasty. Divine.

We've seen this before. IMO it tastes good. I haven't been "fooled" by big business into thinking it tastes a certain way - my taste buds can make up their own mind. In over 2 decades, fruit comes nowhere near close to the taste of junk food. Therein lies the problem.

Theres no Sausage Rolls or anything like it, only Buns, Cakes, Biscuits, Muffins, Coffee, Tea, Soft Drinks, Crisps, Chocolate Bars etc. Everything they sell, except Crisps & Bars, is homemade. The Birthday Cakes they make are just divine - the best b-day cakes ever!

Whenever I go there, usually once every few months, I end up getting some of their Eclairs, Cheesecake buns, Scones & a slice (or 2) of their homemade 'Death By Chocolate Cake'!

Wish I lived near you, though I would be as big as a house

Greggs seem to be on a quest for world domination. It started with one in the city centre and within a short while there were four all a five minute walk from each other.

I do like those pizza slices but everything has suddenly gone up in price and the prices in London are far more than anywhere else.
