Try searching some of the online like What Video and TV and Home Cinema Choice .
You'll find that the 28" version of the TV was a best buy along with the DVD Player |

I have the 28DW6557, which is the 28" version. They've been superceded by the DW6558 model, which only have 2x10W speakers (no subwoofer) and different digital TV interface (from looking at the screenshots in the manual). They're all based on the PW6515.
Picture quality is good with excellent contrast and detail. What the magazine reviews don't appear to pick up on is possible geometry problems, which were also present in the PW6515. This manifests itself as a horizontally squashed picture (so people look slightly thinner) on the extreme right. I suppose it'll depend on your particular unit so check it carefully. The digital text is a little slow, slightly slower than modern boxes like the Pace DTVA or FTVA, but quicker than old ITV Digital boxes. It's possible it also may not be compatible with the updated Teletext on 4 (ch 50). I tried the 'secret' button pushes when the channel was testing a few weeks back and it told me my box wasn't compatible. It may not be important to you if you don't use digital text much. All the other digital text channels work fine, including BBC news multiscreen. |
