Going to see Muse at Manchester Arena tomorrow.

Listening to the albums over the last few days and now I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyone on here going to see them?

They'd better play "Plug in Baby" - my favourite Muse track.

Saw them last night at Wembley Arena, it was an amazing gig, Muse were on top form as always, a great atmosphere and there were some fun suprises towards the end!

Absolutely brilliant - and so much energy.

As already pointed out some surprises at teh end - I won't say what so it doesn't spoil it.

Enjoy! I know you will though.

Elbow were poor though (although well received) - more of a middle of the day festival band I reckon, too laid back for my liking.

I saw muse on Friday night and it was without doubt the best gig I have ever been to - and I'm not just being dramatic - it was really THAT good.

I can't believe three people can make such a noise, and for it to sound so good. The visuals were spectacular, they sounded great, and it seemed more like a greatest hits set than just an ordinary gig. Fantastic.

In fact, two days later I'm still smiling from the gig.

Out of the nine people I know that went, 7 have declared it their favourtie gig of all time (impressive when three of them have been going to gigs for 20 years...)

I didn't rate muse that highly 12 months ago and found their albums a bit hard to get into, but this recent album is just great. The more I listen to it, the better it gets.

Okay, enough gushing from me Put simply: Muse rock.

I've also been going to gigs for 20+ years, well had a gap of about 6 or 7 years until this last year...I've noticed a wider age group of people going to gigs than before - there were kids under 10 there, the usual teens/early 20's, older folk like me in their 40's etc.

I'd say its one of the best I've been to thought not the best (my girlfriend said it was her best).......only downside to me was that at the beginning of the set the drums/bass were too high in the mix - oh and in the quiter numbers could hear the drums reverberating off the back wall but thats what you get in venues that aren't designed for concerts!

I haven't got into Muse for the same reasons that i like them - they're like Radiohead circa '95 by numbers.

Basically, Radiohead dropped The Bends and then promptly disappeared up their own arse. Around the time OK Computer came out (which was a work of genius, but also signalled the end of Radiohead as a great band), Muse hit the scene - all reverbed guitar and wacky angst. It was like they were a Radiohead covers band playing music 'inspired by Radiohead'. So i wrote them off as just a pale imitation and laughed at them.

Then Radiohead became the most discordant and ridiculous act in music, and i began to pine for the sound of '95. And lo and behold, Muse were there to pick up the pieces.

If Radiohead were heroin, Muse are methodone. Nowhere near as good, but bearable when you really, REALLY need a hit

Strange! I don't like Radiohead (never had) but love Muse - far heavier.

ok now ive had the chance to calm down and write in proper sentances instead of being all hyper, i shall begin

All i can say is...WOW!!!

I wont spoil it for others but the visuals were absolutly fantastic, the *ending* seemed to just keep on going and going which i loved

But the whole visuals i mean wow, if you were in any sort of mind altering state it would have just been mindblowing

Muse play so well live as well, they really know how to work the crowd and they just sound so PERFECT, its practically like they are just playing it off a CD!

Also nice to hear Matt say he's glad to be back in Brighton cos thats where the wrote half of the new album, thats cool

have you heard stuff from their old album, showbiz?

I hadnt until last night, when they played some of their old stuff and i instantly loved it.

Two tracks they played and i THOROUGHLY recommend are "sunburn" and "muscle museum".

Sorry to piss on the parade, but...

I went to the MEN gig and felt slightly let down. I wouldn't say I'm an avid fan, but I have been listening to their stuff quite a bit for the last few months. The first support band were a rather unpleasant surprise - Kinesis. They were terrible, no other way to describe it. Elbow were great, although some tossers around us were giving them some stick. One finger gestures and throwing stuff is totally uncalled for

Don't get me wrong - Muse were good and the gig was great fun, especially the showy stuff towards the end, but somehow they just didn't live upto my expectations. I did spot the first of the surprises hanging on the ceiling as soon as we arrived, I wasn't expecting what followed. Made a right mess they did...

Also none of the muppets around me could jump in time to the music, which was rather irritating.

heh yeah the little bit before the chorus on one of the songs (forgotton the name of the song AND the technical name for the bit between verse and chorus..is it bridge?) everyone started jumping before the chorus began whoops

Yeah i think eveyrone spotted the first *suprise* however what followed after that i doubt anyone knew was going to happen!

Also to point out that people were giving elbow some stick at Brighton. grrrrrrr, ok they wernt amazing and they wernt bad either. However i'd like to see those people accusing them of being crap to stand up on the stage and play. The guys showed they had talent and i hope they do well
