New TOTP Format
What do you all think of it??
For my part, I think there is way too much yelling and screaming going on .... what's that all about??? Its great being able to hear artists performing live .... |

I like it - Setting is similar to old TOTP.
Brilliant artists like Will singing live - I think they should ban all mimers. |

If you can get Westlife to sing live, your onto a winner...
Tho Mis-Teeq and Blazing Squad used a mix of backing track and live vocals, which is cheating... Its very CD:UK like.... |

Surely TOTP depends more on the songs in the chart than the title sequence?

It's quite OK.
Very CD:UK but the live element with the couple of stages reminds me a bit of Jools Holland. The Gareth and Kelly Osbourne interview seemed too much like a filler (Which all the interview bits are anyway, I know!) but Will Young was a gift. Great mix of music and some of it not to my tastes which is surely a good thing as it's trying to cater for a wider audience. I'll be tuning in next week. p.s I loved the fluff-up of looking in the wrong camera. Made it a bit rough around the edges which I liked alot.

Thought Tim was trying a bit too hard though. |

And Elton John singing a 30 year old song is just a gimmick that says everything about the music scene today. |

I thought the programme was a re-run of the old TOTP from teh early 1990s - as stated earlier even with regards to a return to the old theme tune from then.
That presenter - poor lamb - he aint good. |

When I was browsing in the Star yesterday I saw an article saying that in rehearsals the programme had over run. So they cut out Gareth's song! He was just doing a piece to camera. They cut Gareth's because he wasn't doing as well as Will!
This is only hear say mind - don't take it out on me. Don't shoot the messenger. Will was great! |

My 2 year old always likes Top of the Pops, but this time she got up and turned of the TV, saying: 'I don't like Top of the Pops.'
They have alienated their target audience. They will fail. Persoannly, I thought there was too much interviewing about nothing from the bland new presenter to keep it interesting. |

I'm backing Darkness for Xmas No.1 - It has everything a cheesy xmas song needs, even the carol singers!
Not so sure about this new look for TOTP. |

I thought it was pretty good, but I can't see how they're going to squeeze everything new they're trying to do into a half hour show. And what was that going on with Blazing Squad?
Very chuffed about The Darkness extras we got on BBC3 though |

It wasn't as good as CDUK. TOTP have changed the idea that worked and copied. It would be so bad but:
1. The presenter was rubbish compared to Cat Deeley 2. Not enough good music (not good when posh says she will sing next week) 3. No where near enough chart coverage. 4. The fact that its gonna be live from now on, yet the pop idols recorded a performance this week 5. Too much noise And CDUK has a better set up. |

Their target audience is 2 years old? Well they need to cater for all age groups, else they'll get nowhere. There should be something for everybody, as music is for everybody. They have to compete with Coronation Street after all - and teenagers watch that too. |
