Sony HTK475

Does anyone on the board have the above system??? I was looking at getting the HTK215, but I have been offered the HTK475 for only £50 more.

Is there some reason why I can't find this system on the Sony website ???

Hi ShaneOC

The system comprises of the STR-DE475S Receiver and SA-VE225 Pascal Speaker set.

I have HTK215 but wish I had of bought the HTK475.

Thanks for the info. I have found the receiver now on Sony's web site. I thought that it might have been a discontinued model but I will probably get one now.

Can someone please explain the differences between the HTK-215, and HTK-475 packages please.

Not being knowledgeable in this field, I had a quick look at the Sony website at the parts listed in the above post, and spotted them labled as 'Entry Level', against the HTK-215's slightly higher listing.

I'm interested to understand why perhaps I should be looking at the HTK-475, instead of the HTK-215.

Also... ShaneOC...where have you been offer the 475 package at this 'special rate', and was the cost in the end..

Iain,

From what I can see the 215 is a compact Dolby digital amp. The 475 is a fully size amp and also has a tuner built in.

I priced the 215 at unbeatable. It was £266. As I am in Ireland, I sent a mail asking about P&P which came to £39.20 plus VAT (17.5%). This came to a total of £312.06 which when converted to Irish is approx £400. I know someone in an electrical shop over here and he can get the 475 for £450 (Irish).

Hi ShaneOC, did you purchase the HTK 475 yet? If so whats it like? Also has anyone got the kit, speakers or amp, if so what do you think?

Did not get it yet. It is on order so should not be too long more. I will let you know what it's like once I have it.
