VOIP Providers with CLI setting from hardphone
Hi, most voip providers that allow you to set your CLI require you to use their softphone (e.g. voipsmart.com voipcheap.com)
I use a cisco 7940 phone for calls which works perfectly via voipsmart.com however the call recipient sees "withheld" as the calling party. As this is for a business and I wish people to be able to return a call by just dialling back the CLI number I'd like to set my main landline number as the CLI (which I can verify ownership of). Has anyone managed to set their CLI when using a hardphone with these voip providers? |

With VoIP cheap and the other Betamax brands, you can verify the number in their software and then on the hardware, you set the Auth ID to your username and set to use Auth ID, then in User ID use your verified phone number, then when you make calls it will send your authorised phone number as the CLID.
As for voipsmart I've never used them, first I've heard of them. |
