Brilliant. I love Angela Lansbury. Gorgeous when she was younger, and still looking fab at 83. A truly great actress

I went to the first night of Blithe Spirit in New York back in March, and AL really is excellent in it, an amazingly physical performance for someone of her age... Rupert Everett was good too!

I've watched seasons 1-6 of Murder She Wrote and thought they were great. I've not watched much else with her in them, but she was great in these though.

BRAVA! She's had a long, varied and distinctive career... and shows no sign of stopping yet.

Long may she continue!

(ps: Am I the only one who wanted Jessica Fletcher to be charged as a mass murderer in the last episode of Murder She Wrote? She was in the vicinity of all those crimes and nobody ever got suspicious? Sweet little old ladies should never be underestimated!)

Nice to see she is still going strong.

If you haven't seen her in The Manchurian Candidate then treat yourself, she is amazing and thoroughly evil - one of the great screen baddies.

She has a long IMDb profile, but David Carradine had twice as many projects. I think he has the longest... or John Wayne, I'm not sure.

A Little Nights Music

Lansbury and Zeta Jones are oficially te hottest tickets on Broadway. Lansbury at 84 has no plans to slow down, could she be on her way for a sixth Tony

Here is a witty interview fresh from American News this morning. Who would have thought Lansbury has ditched her typewriter for a state of the art laptopm

Because all 84 year olds should be Luddites shouldn't they?

Angela Lansbury wasn't exactly young when she first starred in Murder She Wrote. According to Wikipedia she's 84 years old now. I loved her acting in Murder She Wrote though. I still haven't finished watching the entire run of it. If she's as good on broadway as she was in this show then she'll be very popular indeed.

Well, laptops can correct errors if she's prone to them, plus, laptops/computers can store all her work on, whereas a typewriter, this can waste paper if [again] she's prone to errors.

Looking forward to seeing Ms. Lansbury in the upcoming movies she has in production, neither sound brilliant but it'll be great to see her on screen again.

She is British born of course, and I'm sure I read somewhere that her Grandfather had been leader of the Labour Party in his day.
You owe it to yourself to see Gaslight, it is a truly menacing film. It will frustrate you, make you angry, make you cheer and leave you wanting to watch it all over again.

Yes he was and I was surprised to read that her cousin was Oliver Postgate: he of 'Bagpuss' and 'Clangers' fame.

There's a primary school named after him in Poplar, East London...

They could get rid of Laura from Lark Rise (played by the worst actress in that show-I pity the likes of Julia Sawalha, who's one of the best things in it), and have Jessica be the killer- Jessica having bumped Laura off for calling her a bad actress.

She was lovely when she gave a talk at The National Film Theatre in the 1970's, she also signed my "Mame" album. It was that show that made her the toast of Broadway after toiling away in supporting roles in Hollywood for nearly 30 years.

She was Elvis's Mother in Blue Hawaii, and acted everyone else off the screen as the Mother from Hell in The Manchurian Candiate.

I have to admit that her character irritates me in Murder She Wrote. She is so smug, and the way she solves every murder is totally ludicrous.

A shocking waste of a great actress, but it has made her world famous, and very rich.

Well her own company Corymore Productions co-produced it with Universal Television towards the end, and she was EP on it for the last 4 seasons, so it must indeed make her money.

A superstar and keen to meet her public!!

Many moons ago my Mum and Dad went on a coach tour to the Republic of Ireland where she was filming an episode of "Murder She Wrote". During a break she came over and spoke to everybody...asking them where they were from...how they were enjoying their coach trip....did they like Ireland and Dublin etc etc. My Mum said she was so charming and seemed genuinely intersted in them....and keen to have photos taken etc. My Mum and Dad ALWAYS said all of this each time she appeared on telly!!! God Bless them!! And her too!!

I don't think she qualifies as she became a US citizen in 1951.
Though she has a CBE.
