Mind you blame the stupid public for allowing her to get this far in the first place.

This BETTER NOT happen again next year assuming there is another season.

It will, it does every year. They will not people all of the same potential. These people started training six months ago they didn't have auditions just asked if they wanted to do it. It's supposed to be part of the entertainment that those like Coleen have as much chance as those who do it well.
The nice thing is probably after an out-pouring of glee/sadness the threads may become more civilised.

They need to come up with some sort of rule change to prevent this in the future.

Perhaps suspend the public vote until week 3/4 and base the first two weeks on pure judges scores? Still have a skate-off though as the bottom scoring couples would have one last chance to redeem themselves.
