Anyone been to Nandos? Went there the other day with a friend - they got a wrap for about £6.50 and I got their signature chicken dish - 1/4 chicken - for about the same price.

The food turned up and my mate got two wraps, a corn on the cob and chips and all I got was a one chicken leg and a few vegetables! I was like where's the rest of it??

A 1/4 of a chicken could be anything - but I expected more than one leg!

Sorry Nandos is fantastic. Nothing beats flame grilled chicken with spices on top. And i personally find it value for money.

I often walk past the one in Cambridge but I must say that I've never been tempted to go inside. It just seems to be a slightly more up market KFC. When I go into a restaurant I like some variety on the menu rather than just chicken or chicken.

Never tried Nandos yet, I prefer Chiquito's.

Haven't you got the choice of how many sides you want though, so you can choose how much food you get? (otherwise you'll just get the chicken by itself, which sounds like what you had!)

I've only been once but I had 1/2 chicken with 2 sides and that was just the right amount!

I've been once - not my choice - with some friends from work, who raved about it. Wasn't impressed, and don't think I'll go back. I had the lemon chicken, as I'm not keen on overly spicy stuff.

It was pretty meh, and the service was lousy.

It's quite generic... certainly not somewhere I would regularly eat. Their menu is limited, but what they do have is usually quite good. Doesn't really go beyond that for me. If I was offered to go, sure, but I'd never choose it myself.

I hate Nandos

It's just a slightly more upmarket McDonalds always filled with teenagers and families

In the same bracket as TGI's, Frankie and Benny and the other franchises....

eugh!

It's rubbish, surely the most overhyped 'restaurant' chain ever!

As another poster said, its just an upmarket KFC. I remember the chips being almost as bad as Weatherspoons' chips as well, which is saying something.

Nados is rotten. They use the scrawniest chickens known to man, the chips are just frozen oven chips put in a deep fat fryer and the queing up to order your meal thing is ridulous.

The only decent thing about the chain is the sauces which you can buy in the supermarket anyway.

I've had a craving for Nando's of late. Only been two or three times before.... Really like thier meduim spice breast in pitta.

Only ever go with my sis and nephew though, not where I'd ever go if I am "dining out". It's a mere step up from Maccy D's...

It depends on each branch and which chef you have. Some are lovely, some are urgh!

I've eaten there in the past when it wasn't such a massive chain and the food was quite nice but recently I think it's gone downhill a lot and it seems to be so pricey! For their family platter things I could do a roasted chicken with chips and salad for half that price and it would be decent chicken, not the scrawny things they seem to use these days. Shame.... it used to be quite a nice place to go to...

I severely doubt any branch of Nando's employs a chef! Looking at the menu on their website, looks like most the stuff is pre-prepared in a factory.

We went about a month ago for the first time and spent £60. We weren't impressed at all. It was okay but we won't be going again.

We got the one with 2 whole chickens and 6 sides I think it was. Ordered chips for all the sides. We didn't realise how big the portions of chips were and had far too many!!

So true.

It does make me laugh when people say this branch is better than that branch when it comes to places like Nando's, Frankie n bennies, La Tasca, Mcdonalds e.t.c. The only diffrence in the taste of food will be down to how often things like the oil in the fryers are changed.

That's what I usually order as well - had it with pineapple once too which was lovely and I also love their salads (the dressing in particular!).

They don't exist here though so I haven't actually eaten in one for a couple of years.
