I've not done much testing on this, but I've noticed on a couple of occasions clicking noises in the audio on the Foxsat HDR. I'm playing back direct through the TV via HDMI. Most recently this was during last night's Wild at Heart on ITV1 HD. However, I think it only happens when watching in timeslip or time delay mode, i.e. when you have hit pause during the live transmission, and then resumed playback some time later. Note, this is as distinct to going into Media and selecting 'Play' on a programme that is still being recorded - this seems fine.

I'll do more tests, including to see if it affects SD, but has anyone else noticed this?

thanks,

I can confirm that this happens to my HDR as well. As you say, it only happens in timeslip mode. It sounds like the kind of electrical interference you get when a thermostat switches on and off but is much more frequent.

I get the clicking noise when changing channels. It lasts until the information banner disappears.

More noticeable going through the Hi Fi but is there with just the telly speakers.

I changed by box but the second box is the same. Humax told me to take all leads out and re do and then do a factory reset which I have done. Problem is still there.

I am waiting to hear back from them.

Yes, me too, heard on SD.
I think I have also had this when viewing "live" too.
I have heard it via the optical output through an external decoder as well as via HDMI direct to the TV.

I've been experiencing this problem in timeshift too. It really does get very irritating after a while. I’ve tried optical, HDMI via an amp, and HDMI straight to TV but no joy.

I’d be very curious to hear what Humax have to say about it.

It’s a pity, because I’m really loving the box in all other respects.

Another thing I have noticed:
If the clicking is present whilst replaying a recording, if you rewind then play the same part again, the clicks are in a different place in the playback.
Thus, the clicks are not errors in the recorded stream.

I don't have this problem but remember it so well with my freeview PVR.....drove me nuts. Took me ages to work out what it was and it turned out to be the RGB. My living room TV was incompatible with it and as soon as I switched to composite it stopped. My bedroom TV was fine when connected to it on RGB.

Not much help I know but could it possibly be a similar issue?

Hi Frank - just to confirm - do you get this on recorded items in the Media library as opposed to pausing/re-winding live TV? thanks.

NO, they only replied the first time. I am hoping that they are looking into it. Luckily it only happens when I change channels.
and goes away once the banner disappears.

I noticed it when rewinding the buffer, not playing an item in the Media library.
Strange but I have not noticed this fault for a little while now...
