It's a stand for watching movies, iplayer, etc. Attached it to the ipod by placing the ipod in the "hook" shaped space.

Docking stations and acessories for iPods are everywhere in the marketplace, companies cashing in on the popularity of Apple products, examples include Gear4/ I Want It/ Logic ect.

"This adapter is designed to enable any iPod model to connect to the iPod Universal Dock and other products that use the Universal Dock system. You simply insert the Dock Adapter that fits your particular iPod model into the Dock, then plug in your iPod. When you want to connect a different-size iPod, simply pop out the Dock Adapter and insert a new one." Apple.

did you read the original post and look at that picture?

WHITE thing - dock adapter

clear see-thru thing - stand

anyway back to the original topic: basically the adapter is to help the touch fit securely on a docking station in items like an iPod speaker system, the products come with a dock but it's a generic size to allow the use of adapters for different iPod models to fit.

see here: http://www.ipodtips.com/pictures/ipo...remote_216.jpg

where the iPod connection is in the dock, basically the adapter sits in there and the iPod and you don't have to worry about your iPod being loose or fall off easily.

I had one of these with my touch but it doesn't fit. Do they come in difference sizes? I've got a 32gb touch by i'm sure the dock thing has '16' on the back
