Hello, and thanks again to everyone who has voted again in this, the first series of Your Favourite EastEnders Family. Voting was down again in Round 3 (Which I personally put down to the thread being moved into the soap games room
), and this may have had an effect on the result...

The Masood family

Coming in 6th, is our newest family on the square, The Masood family.
This time last year, Masood was still in Pakistan looking after his sick father. This left is family alone in Walford, and Zainab struggled to keep the Post Office going. Masood returned however, and quickly realised the family's financial troubles.
October 2008 proved to be a hectic month for the Masoods as the family had to close doen the Post Office, Shabnam then left Walford, and Tamwar was revealed to be a stand up comedian! Tamwar later learned that he had gained his place to Oxford University.
Soon the Masoods started a new catering business called 'Masala Masood'. However Masood borrowed money off Ian Beale to fund the business, and eventually the Masoods had to share their catering space with the Beale familly's new company, 'Fit for a Queen'. After an uneasy start, the 2 businesses combined in February 2009 to form 'Masala Queen', with Zainab as head of the company.
However soon after the start of the new business a large amount of money went missing from the business account. Zainab accused Masood, saying that he had lost money before. Infact Tamwar had taken the money for his estranged brother Syed. Masood also revealed to Zainab that he had bailed out their errant son Syed before...
Considering that they are the newest family in EastEnders, I think the Masoods have done really well. They are also the joint smallest family in EE at the moment with only 3 members. However, news that Syed Masood and his girlfriend have been cast in EastEnders should bulk up the family numbers, and may improve their position in this contest next year...
