Very important if you are watching an elevated TV from your bed. In the end I went for the 19 inch SHARP AQUOS. Cant recommend it enough. Best picture ive seen on an LCD. |

It appears to have a native resolution of 1680x1050 ...
My 22" LG 22LS4R is the same and it cannot display 16/9 anamporphic widescreen images properly.... this screen is a 16x10 resolution so it stretched the verticle part of the image to fill the screen (meanining it stretches/distorts the image by a small degree) While many people have no problem with this, it is annoying especially when a testcard is clearly oval when it should be a circle. I posted some pictures on the AVForums demonstrating this problem... http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-t...-advice-3.html Just my 2 pence worth. PS, mine has awful tinny sound but acceptable pictures. |

Depends where they are going to watch the TV from. Mine is higher than the bed. I looked at the 22" LG in the shop and as soon as my eyes went below the screen the picture fell apart.
Otherwise they are nice TVs. |

What is the sound quality like as it has speakers built in
invisible speakers Wide Sweet Spot - The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker system, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. This new speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs. What is the picture quality like?. Do some scenes seem dull or light for example in a church scene can the light be seen shining through the windows and brighten up the church? or does it leave the scene dull So if I place my TV on the desk and view it from my bed or chair at my desk wil I have any problems? What inputs does it have? such s PC input? |

Strange. My LG 22 is on top of the chest of drawers and when I lay on the bed watching, the picture doesnt go down any shade at all.
The SHARP was the only TV in the 19 - 22 inch range that didnt lose contrast when you went beneath it. |

Should I go for the LG 22LG3000 TV as it was recomened by me. Can someone answer me these questions What is the picture quality like?. My pictures are acceptable at sensible viewing distances... it looks a pretty good straight on but has narrow field of view so colours go wierd if viewed off centre (like many LCDs) Sound is terrible... my £5 clock radio is 100% better, seriously, my 22LS4R is the worst sound TV I've ever come across, oh except for maybe a casio pocket tv. I can't say ALL LG's are like this though! The main thing is this, my LG was pretty cheap, works very well as a PC monitor (it's main function) and works quite well as a TV and video monitor (it has lots of useful inputs) I'd suggest you go see the TV and have a fiddle, don't look at the image from 2 feet as we all do in shops but stand back a little and see how it looks. Note that I got a 2 year guarantee on mine, which I think LG give to some of their range (the Monitor/TV range and the PC monitor range?) EDIT: take a look at this true 16:9 LG full hD no less with lots of input sockets. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158705...roduct_reviews http://uk.lge.com/products/model/det..._m227wd.jhtml# |

Yes LG make Blu-ray players - LG Blu-ray players
Here's one on sale at Dixons for £230. Wether they are any good or not, I don't know? But they seem to include the Netflix feature which allows internet streaming to your telly. The player that is usually praised at the moment is the Sony BD350, which can usually be found cheaper than that. ETA: any Blu-ray player should work equally well with any TV. The only advantage in getting an LG Blu-ray might be that you could control the TV and player with one remote.

Have you seen the EPG on the LG 22" LG3000 TV can't they update the EPG so that it would look something like the EPG on a Panasonic 37" TV.

Can you tilt and swivel these TV's?
Plus I have been thinking of purchasing this to go with my TV http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/stor...&category_oid= I would use this for watching Blu Ray and existing DVD's and using You Tube. What are people's opinions? |

Thanks Orbitalzone for alerting us of the 16:10 issue. That would bug the hell out of me too.
Anyway I've just ordered an LG M227WD, 1920x1080 monitor with Freeview. At £195, I'm just worried that its too cheap to be any good. The specs, connectivity and menu options seem great for the price. I'll report back. Last edited by AngusMast : 20-04-2009 at 13:59. Reason: typo and added a bit |

To be honest, my 16:10 LG TV/Monitor does perform quite well for a such a relatively low price I paid for it,. about £220 2 years ago.....so I'd suspect a newer model would perform better if anything. The main gripe I had was the 16:10 (which I knew before buying) and the quiet, weak speaker sound. The M227 does look like a decent enough model and the reviews are good so I'd hope it'll be pretty good assuming you have realistic expectations. Also check the guarantee period as mine came with 2 years from LG, as it was classed as a PC monitor apparently.... |
