Yes, I read an article about this a little earlier. I wouldn't necessarily have cast Ray as Danny but can see it will probably work well.

But this time he's playing Danny rather than Doody.

At least it keeps him off the National public's television screens for a bit.

Well done to Ray.

A great lead part on the West End for him - he is perfect for Danny.

I'd like to see more of him on my tv screen too - he could dance or ice skate every night of the week and I would be only too delighted to watch him!

A fabulous mover!

I think it is great news and I'm pleased for him too that he will already know the rest of the cast having played Doody for 6 months, so settling in should be a lot easier for him.

Danny is a part Ray was born to play.

But wasn't the guy who won the TV show, Danny somebody, only about 19??? Don't see why that should be a problem really, I think Ray may well do an extremely good job in the role. It is quite an achievement at his age to land a leading west end role.

Will he be keeping his accent?

He shouldn't though as it is supposed to be American, he will most deffinately pull the American accent off, can't wait to go & see him

He adopted an American accent last year when he played a more minor role in the show, and apparently was very convincing, so don't think that will be a problem for him.

Surely it's the 30 year old t-birds that are miscast.

Although John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John were in their 20's when they made the movie and Stockard Channing was 34.

That's right - Danny Bayne was 19 when he won the part in so he could be younger than Ray. I think the rock and roll look is quite aging, so I doubt if Ray will look out of place.

Stuart Ramsay who plays Kenickie is easily the oldest T-Bird and he's 29 (Kenickie always looks older though).

Ray must have managed an American accent for Doody (he got great reviews btw) if they've now cast him the lead.
