Wow, the tallying on Dancing with the Stars is more complicated than SCD isn't it? At least it solves the issue in regards to how it avoids the semi final disaster of the last SCD.

Force Ten - I must have misunderstood Tom when he was explaining the procedure. I thought he said the judge's and public vote was being carried forward to add on to the new judge's dance off score, but if I'm incorrect I stand corrected - sorry about that.

I doubt the Dance Off will be scrapped - but maybe SCD will take on the percentage system for the new series to try and even the situation out a bit?

The dance off isn't going to be scrapped and that's my point really - why not have a fairer scoring system if that is the case?

If you think about it, on SCD and on DWTS we are never told anything about the public vote other than the finishing position of each couple i.e. in the dance off or not.

Although the DWTS scores calculation is more difficult for viewers to work out for themselves, even if you did go to that bother you would still be none the wiser than we are now because we still don't know how many public votes a couple gets.

All the calculations would still be done behind the scenes as they are now, but you would get a much fairer result.

I'd say that DWTS now has three big improvements lacking in SCD -

A fairer scoring system
How to cope with couple(s) dropping out
Nobody is eliminated until couples have danced both ballroom & Latin.
I still prefer SCD to DWTS, but SCD would be a much better show for me if it adopted these three things.

I agree, I'd love them to make those three changes to the programme, let everyone dance twice, altyer the scoring system to make it fairer and having replacements on standby for couples dropping out. They all make sense. If BBC America can do it, why not BBC1?

I was thinking about the roll over rule when someone drops out mid series, but you are right - having people on stand by is a great idea. Even DOI has that!
