Keeping cables tidy
Having just redecorated, I have been 'ordered' to find a solution to keep the mass of cables which run from behind my AV amp to the speakers / TV etc tidy. This comprises cables for all of the speakers (7 of them), audio interconnects from the sky box, DVD player and video to the amp and a couple of thick scart cables.
Any suggestions about where I can find some decent size white conduit, rectangular, or any other solution will be greatly received. Thanks. |

You should be able to get conduit from places like B&Q which are used to take mains sockets around the walls so it should be ample for your needs. Overall the stuff is about 4 cm deep to the wall and 10cm in width in lengths about 2 meters. You can also get end caps and corners etc.

This is a real problem for me too. My system is not even sorround sound, but it is all seperates. The amount of cables is a nightmare.
I suppose, I could always junk the NAD amp and Sony DVD/SACD and go for a "mini/micro" compact.......Na, maybe not. What we need is true wireless interconnects. A wireless interconnect to replace Scart, aerial wires, phono wires, optical wires. I know headphones do this now, and I think there are some speakers that use it, but thats about it. It doesnt get rid of the other mess of cables. Dave |

Then shove the wires in the gap between the skirting boards and floor?, then you just need to work out how to get the wires up the wall, my dad just wallpapered over them. It's a mess in my room at uni though - between the PC and TV with all the switch boxes, spltters and extenstion leads about 15 cm of carpet is covered by wires
