Hi all,

This is my first post after lerking about here for several months waiting to get hold of a Foxsat HDR. Now I have it, I have a problem setting it up dispite searching through the forums. I have a DiSEqc switch attached to lnb2 with feeds coming from Astra 1 and 2.

Following the instructions from

http://foxsat.wikispaces.com/Setting+up+DiSEqC

I have added all the channels, however my problem is that I don’t think that the DISEqc is switching as when I record BBC1, I am not able to view ITV1. I have looked at

http://foxsat.wikispaces.com/diseqc-setup, however it is not obvious to me what I am doing wrong?

Rgds,

Have you got connected to lnb1 just an astra 2 setting?

There does appear to be a menu option to accept different satellite inputs on different LNB sockets....

I'm not 100% sure whether that would allow you to have one with disecq on astras 1 & 2 and the other with just astra 2, and what the result would be, however...

I'm using one feed + loopthrough for astra 1 & 2 using disecq and it seems to work fine...

Regards
Chris

I found some time ago that the diseqc input had to be put onto LNB1. I had tried it on LNB2 and the box would not operate the switch.
Prior to that I had tried to get Humax support to clarify which settings for diseqc worked through which LNB 1 and 2 inputs but they never replied.

thanks, however I am still not sorted....

I have connected the switch to LNB 1, and now it is being detected, (DISEqC B).

In Antenna Setings- Satelite Settings, I have selected

Tuner 1 Freesat 28.2E, Astra 1 19.2E
Tuner 2 Freesat 28.2E

Then in Satellite Settings

Tuner Tuner 1
Satellite Astra 1 19.2E
Diseqc input Diseqc B

Then in Manuel tune, I select Tuner 1 and Astra 1, yet the search just finds BBC etc on Astra 2. I must be missing something else?

What happens if you use the "sort" option? On mine by default it lists all the satelites from Astra 2 first, then Astra 1. Using sort lists all alphabetically.

If you want to watch channels from two satellite positions then you really need two DiSEqC switches connected to two twin/quad LNBs. The HDR will then switch seamlessly between all the channels on each satellite. If you just have one switch I would connect it to LNB input 1. You will then only have a problem if you create the situation where the STB wants to access whatever satellite is not connected to LNB2. - Using a 'Two Cable(Same)' setup and assigning Freesat/Astra 2/Eurobird to DiSEqC A and Astra 2 to DiSEqc B.

I say that, I have not tried 'Two cable (different)'
