Aw well jess skated for strictly on ice, so shes telling tales
But back to topic... (god knows enough threads here are off topic)
Ray is killing everyone on this tour... everyone...
I do hope the others start getting a few, it would boost their morale, it cant be good at the moment...
Chris must be regreting the I'm gonna beat ray comment at bit...

So, it could be a Ray whitewash, which is not that surprising - he is so good. Only Suzanne at her best had a chance of beating him even once.

In the suzanne v ray, ray would probs win anyway, though it wouldnt be alot more interesting and entertaining if it was a more even fight...”

I totally get what you're saying. And it makes sense that Suzanne would have had a better chance of keeping up if she had her original partner. I also think former champions are on a hiding to nothing competing against current crop. It is a shame because it does tarnish her win for people like me who didn't see her last year because now she looks so much weaker against all the other girls except Melinda to be honest, let alone Ray, Chris and Kyran.

Ya I'm not sure if chris has enough performance to beat ray (though he is getting better) likewise with kyran, suzanne at her best is the only one really who could have given ray a good run and shes the joint most 30s record holder with him... its just such a pity.
In fairness suz is doing harder footwork than the other girls and she only came behind jess when I was there and she was very good, not suzi and matt good, but still very good. The only thing she's missing is the flow to the routine that comes with familiarity and she'd have that with matt. Last year on tour she got straight 6s night I was there. I'm quite sorry for the likes of yourself that havent got to see suzanne and matt, they really are special together.

I would have thought it was because she is one of THIS years contestants.

I have been all 3 tours and it seems to me that the tour is about the contestants of the year of the tour with a few skaters from the previous years!

Chris is one of my favourite skaters and it was a bonus to see him again, but I went to see THIS years skaters (and of course T&D) for me any skaters from previous years are just a bonus.

lol...do you think they ought to train for 2 weeks and then just get on the ice at week 1 and be good? of course they all train for ages before...some of them a bit harder depending on their work schedule I think. I get the impression that Coleen and todd trained a bit less...don't think they took it quite so seriously at first.

Back to the discussion..I feel a bit sorry for Suzanne actually...but they are saying she's taking it like a pro which shows how lovely she is.

my point was simply that each year the contestants have plenty of time to get used to their partner and have a good understanding even by week one. that was all...
I dont think no matter how good you are you'd be unaffected by playing catch up with a new partner against the best of past and your own series and people fresh out.
It's unfortunate they've had to do that and I hope for competitions sake it happens to nobody else in the future. Cos not having champs at full strength against eachother, regardless of the fact that ray would still probs win is a bit disappointing and shouldnt happen again. Everyone should go in on a more equal footing, then we could judge properly how good everyone is, at the moment with suzanne we cant really. We can see shes doing well and holding her own but cant compare properly, we'll just have to take chris' word for it that for her circumtances she's doing really well... it would have been nice to see her with matt though”

I think people forget a difficult and dangerous sport this is. They all make it look easy but they have to practice so much to make it look that easy. Even the pros have accidents...Frankie for example...so it's going to be harder for Suzanne who has to completely change how she skates. Their work schedules prob mean they don't get a lot of time to practice before the tour, which is a shame.

I don't understand this comment. Suzanne didn't give up the chance of Chicago, she was in Chicago last year until her contract ended in August.

Was she offered the chance to go back into Chicago?
