i bought a sony dvd rw and pvr to allow the wife to record her progs and replace my ageing sagem. alas i keep programming her progs but some are taped in full, others are taped half way through and others just overlooked?

I have resanned channels, re set up prpgrams and even started leaving on to download guide every days for 5 hourS!

I receive from emley moor, record from bbc1 eastenders, 3 news at 10, 4 hollyoaks, e4 hollyoaks. They are all hit and miss, i have had to buy a humax 910 to rwcord my f1, as the sony just seems not to qork.
Any help would be appreciated just seems not to work

Which Sony model do you have?
The epg downloads when the units are in standby and should be left on standby,when not being used.
Have you tried turning off the series link and manually setting the recordings with padding?

not sure on model,160gb hdd, full1080pupscaling on DVD, etc.

Sorted a way round this problem by using it as a vcr !!!
I set the programs to record,daily mon thru friday and start and stop times,CRAP really.

The Sagemworksfrom the guide fine, humax works a treat all on samesystem .
