Apparently ballroom dancing is one of Alex Wotherspoon's hobbies - I think DOI for Alex and SCD for Raef might be good viewing.

I would love for Leon to be in it. Same as when lovely Gareth was in it last year

Apart from Donal, this year's bunch of guys were lacking good looks!

Well yes - we hear little of Amy and see even less. Surprising in some respects - she does have a lovely, trained classical voice.

As for your choices:

Kym Marsh - doubt if the Hollywood z listers have much to fear - so DOI could be a lifeline.
Kacey Ainsworth - next year's Coleen.
Jennie Bond - Aggies's reincarnation perhaps. double
Will Carling - I'd welcome him - if only to see him fall flat on his face; the other end would be equally entertaining.
James Corden - well he could do with losing the weight.

Jason Gardiner - Put up or shut up time.

Also, it would be awful to watch the Schofield & Co suck up.

But Christopher Biggins.

The only two things that probably has kept Julie form doing any show like DOI is that she knows that popularity comes into voting, and given that she isn't so well known now outside theatre it may be seen by some that she is doing it to boost her career. Even Clare admitted part of her wanting to do DOI was to boost her career.

The other thing would be Clare's experiences of being branded a liar about her skating prowes, and Julie would suffer the same given her theatre school dance background and being able to skate recreationally. That was the one thing I found distastefull about Series Two was how the Daily Mirror went on a witch hunt to prove Clare had previous skating ability yet airbrushed over the fact Kyran also had had training to skate as had Emily Symons as well.

Tries to remember - have they had any track & field athletes since Kelly Holmes?

Steve Backley was an Olympic Javelin thrower and one time world record holder

James Corden will never go on it?

For what? He has a stable carreer so DOI would just be stupid for him really.

I don't Kym Marsh would go on DOI as well as she said in an interview she doesnt like reality TV shows as they can limit your chances of being taken seriously especially if your an actor and learnt her lesson from when she was on Popstars.

Definitely "The Krankies", a husband and wife team to be partnered with either Fred/Mel or Andrei/Susie.

If we're looking for possible sports people what about Denise Lewis & Martin Ofiah.

If we're scraping the barrel then I'm sure Mario & Lisa would be available.

Denise and Martin have already appeared on SCD - doubt if they would be asked and just imagine the outcry, "They've had dance training."

I'd nominate Matthew Wolfenden (Emmerdale actor) - but he too is a trained dancer. Not only that he was a member of the GB gymnastics team until injury put paid to any Olympic hopes he harboured.

Imagine him on ice.

It would be great to see Julie Buckfield, Clare's sister on there. I've seen them both practicing at Alexander Palace back when Clare was doing the Christmas special.

I also think Alan Carr would be absolutely hilarous but i doubt its his kind of thing.

Faye Tozer might be another good contestant to have. Then she could go on and do better than Lisa Chav Lee

Alan Carr appears on a video snippet on Schofield's website and was asked if he would consider it for next year and he said yes... and was quite serious. He loves it apparently. Philip seemed delighted and said thats how they got Ray Quinn, he was just asked up front on camera and said yes. I would love to see him do it.

I saw that clip, its hysterical, Alan is wearing the outfit and everything. I think there was a clip on the ITV website of him actually on the ice near the beginning of the series. He is so funny. Love him.

I think Alan Carr might be a dead cert for next year, guys, judging by this thread!

How fab!

A good list, but Ruthie? I wouldn't happen!

I love the idea of Darcy, Denise would be good, and Clare Sweeney .... but they would probably all get 'hate' threads on the grounds they have danced (Clare Sweeney did SCD).

Steve & Sally would be good, and maybe Ross Kemp, but please not Richard Madeley!

Never heard of Will, Adam or Jamie.

Apparently he tried out for this year: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/dancingo...d-for-ice.html

If they reduce the number of judges (please, please, please) then I'd really like to see Ruthie Henshall do it. She's fantastic when performing in the West End but she doesn't add anything to the judges' panel (I don't think she's ever said anything of substance) and she doesn't seem willing to accept that doing things on a stage or in a dance studio aren't the same as doing them on ice. At least Jason acknowledges that and most of what he says is relevant.

I've a feeling Darcey Bussell can skate already - there's some photographs knocking around of Jayne skating at Somerset House with Darcey's family a few years ago - so I don't know if they'd accept her or not, although they did accept Chris Foutain even though he could already skate, so I guess they'd accept Darcey if she wanted to do DOI.

It wouldn't surprise me if any of the following end up doing it, depending on upcoming work offers:

Ricky Groves (about to leave Eastenders)
Kara Tointon (about to leave Eastenders)
Mickey Swash (was rumoured for this year but ended up doing the jungle instead)

Tina O'Brien (left Corrie a couple of years ago and has admitted she hasn't had much success finding work since)

Jenna-Louise Coleman (just left Emmerdale)
Verity Rushworth (just left Emmerdale)
