Does anyone know when the 2009 series starts? And does anyone know when the BBC boards open?

Doesn't the show usually start in September?

I think the BBC board usually opens a month prior to the show so that would be August.

SCD board here of course, runs for the whole year.

Thanks Sofes.

Which boards do you prefer, these or the BBC one?

Know the question wasn't directed at me .. but since when have I let that bother me?

I definitely prefer the BBC Boards for SCD ... can't quite put my finger on why though

I think they both have their merits tbh. For SCD though I am slightly in favour of the BBC. The forum moves much faster than here, the mods respond directly, and I like the user options.

Totally off topic here - but as Camilla is leaving, who will partner Ian?

Hayley? If she comes back that is.

Hi Toby, I think I do as well overall.

Oh yes. I liked her actually and Ian would help her popularity.

If they go for 16 Couples again at the start, they'll need to bring in at least one new professional ... and that's assuming all the pro's from last series sign up again.

Not knowing (or wanting to know) the world of Professional Dancing - I've no idea who that will be.

Maybe a few new ones from other, lesser shows from the continent?

Or even have a re-think about the existing professionals? I'm sure Anton, for example, might want to move on to other things?

NO point in bringing in dancers from abroad when we have loads of professional dancers in this country just as good ( and maybe better) than the pros already doing the show.

Presumably a lot of pro dancers don't want to associate themselves with Strictly though? Or don't have the time to take away from competing.

I am still vaguely hoping they might bring Nicole back this year. It's difficult after the NOTW article, but they did apologise for it so in theory it shouldn't matter, don't know what the reality is. Also if it's true that they didn't invite her back because they didn't have anyone to pair her with, that actually kind of makes sense- if Hayley was who they asked instead, there's no way they could have partnered gigantic Mark with tiny little Nicole. And of all the shorter ladies, Nicole is perhaps the least well known and possibly the only one they could not invite but still get her pro partner to take part.

I wouldn't want to see Ian dancing with Hayley, Hayley's latin dancing is not in Ian's league at all. Although they would be much nicer to watch dancing ballroom than Ian with Camilla.

Can I slip in a question about the BBC message boards?

Whenever I post on a BBC message board the message is delayed until the mods have approved it. Is the BBC SCD board set up separately so that it allows instant posting then?

After a period of time your posts will appear instantly. However, they do not let you post within three minutes of a previous post which is infuriating.

Three minutes is a long time!

So if I posted on other boards for a while so I had more posts to my name, do you think when the SCD board opens again my posts will appear instantly or is the 'probation period' board specific?

No, pre-moderation is specific to each BBC board. You will just need to post a lot until you're out of pre-mod on the BBC SCD boards!

Thank you - can't see that being a problem really!

No, I meant posting lots to get my reputation up so I don't need moderating won't be a problem!

Sorry, I did realise what you meant. I shouldn't have quoted your post in my reply!

The worst thing about the BBC boards is the 3 minute rule

You get used to it SS.

I think the moderation is much stricter on the BBC boards as well. Threads are closed when they go off-topic or get argumentative.
