Did he actually get his hands dirty in this task? I can only remember him talking into that megaphone.

Was he Asian?

I thought he was Jewish.

Oh lighten up - so he has a funny beard, at least he seems like a bit of a character!

And just because they didn't show him shoe-shining in the brief 2 minute footage of that part of task, it doesn't mean he didn't pull his weight.

I think he's going to be a laugh.

I thought he made a couple of pretty questionable 'jokes', but he seems pretty harmless. I can see him being the resident scapegoat.

He made me smile.

Oh he didn't mean it, it was just an off the cuff comment. I think he could be quite good. I enjoyed the little good natured smile he gave at the word Empire being associated with Britishness.

quit looking for an excuse to put down 'the asian guy' - i'm sure if one of the white skinned contestants or even sir alan had said that i'm sure you wouldn't have battered an eyelid

Good grief, are we back in the sixties or something?

I love his beard.

I sort of like that he seems a bit of a character - I wonder if he'll be a bit of a Tre - but those jokes were downright daft. If he continues making comments like that... he'll be damaging his future prospects in a big way.

I did gulp at the beard - I can't see one nowadays without knee-jerkingly reading it as an anti-British statement. But this guy seems very good-natured, self-aware and intelligent and I think he'll overcome my prejudice.

I wonder if the producers thought the same about his potential to win over viewers?

You can begin to get an idea of why it must be so difficult being a Muslim in the UK today.

Only Muslims with the trademark beard. One of my best friends is Muslim.

People: if you ever think "Should I post that?"... the answer will always be "No!"

I am still trying to work out if that is deliberate irony or an innocent whoosh moment.

Indeed, although it is often worth remembering that like other religious beliefs, being a Muslim is a choice, not genetic like skin colour, appearance or sexuality.
