Betting Odds on New Series Paddy Power
The Net
25-03-2009
As it is pre-recorded there is no public betting but :-

Male Apprentice Winner Expected
Men have won the last three series of the Apprentice and Paddy Power clearly think that the males with have the edge once again. Is it sexism on the part of Alan Sugar who are the male candidates simply better? We don’t know but we do know that Paddy Power make a male winner 4/6 whilst a female winner is 11/10 with Paddy Power.

Ben Clarke Is The Favourite
Ben Clarke, who described making money as ‘better than sex’ is Paddy Power’s favourite to win, they go 4/1 about the 22 year olds chances but he may be a bit young to win, even though the show is called The Apprentice.

The Best Of The Rest
Other candidates who are prominent in the betting are Mona Lewis and James McQuillan who are both 6/1 with Paddy Power whilst Paula Jones, Anita Shah and Kate Walsh are all tied on 8/1 with Paddy Power.

The only problem is that all of these odds are hypothetical. The Apprentice is pre recorded so there is no betting on it likes there is on X Factor or American Idol

The bookies must think the public 'young females' are voting. Way off.

Alex and Lee (the only eye candy of 2008 IMO) did make the final over the likes of Lucinda and Raef...

I'd probably add odds of 3/1 for Debra making it to the interviews - she will prove to be very entertaining IMO.

Won't the bookies already know the winner or at least the two finalists?

Probably - you can't really bet on the outcome of something which has already happened.

Its like running a horse race and then allowing people to place bets after the winner has crossed the line.

Sralan's comments about a feeling in his gut suggests he might think Debra and Mona show potential. That gut instinct can sway him quite a bit, as we saw last year with Slimy Sophocles.
