I received my Humax pvr today but when I installed it it was unable to detect a freesat signal or verify postcode.

Following the troubleshooting sequence in section 14 of the manual transponder 11428H displays the signal strength at 100% but signal quality at 0%.
Further investigation reveals all horizontially polarised transponders between 11222 and 11662 (Eurobird) displays the signal strength at 100% but signal quality between 0% and 30%, all vertically polarised are OK (signal strength at 100% with signal quality 90%-100%).
All other transponders OK.

Guessing that this may be an alignment problem I connected a Grundig freesat SD receiver signal strength 100%, signal quality 90%. Also checked the signal with a Humax iCord & Manhattan FTA receivers, no problems.

Have I a faulty Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat receiver or am I missing something?

It sounds as if the stb's not switching the lnb to horizontal polarisation which may indicate that the 18V DC power required to switch is not being output

I had the very same problem when I ditched my old (hardly ever used Sky box), for my new Humax a few weeks ago. I could not get BBC news or Parliament or QVC along with a few others . The problem was resolved when I installed a new LNB. The Humax must be a little more fussy than my old Sky box.
