Perspex
Hi
I have just popped my lcd on the living wall. Its a samsung, so it is glossy black, and my av stand is glossy black. To hide the wiring - I have attached a white piece of trunking on the wall going from the bottom of the tv to the ground. It all looks neat, however I want to attach a 1m long piece of black plastic/perspex to the white trunking so it all matches and is glossy. Any one know the bext place for buying perspex for this situation? Thanks |

You could try spraying the trunking black gloss - car paint or enamel would be fine, but I'd remove it from the wall first

You can buy black edging strip (self adhesive) for contiboard at a DIY store. Not sure if it will be wide enough though.

What about the sticky back work top coverings you can buy from places like homebase for your kitchen surfaces?

I searched the net high and low when I wanted a 7' x 2' sheet of grey tinted for a rack door. What I found was that everyone had fairly similar prices; the main difference was how flexible they'd be in accommodating a custom cut. In the end I decided to go to a local supplier. I might have Yell'd or gone to the phone book and Yellow Pages.
For what you want - which is almost an off-cut - have a look who is local to you and give them a ring.

If you can't find black perspex which is totally opaque (to completely hide the trunking), use a strip of clear perspex/acrylic/polycarbonate and paint the back side with a Halfords acrylic black car aerosol.

Go to a local sign maker, they are usually happy to give you offcuts as is saves them paying to take them away
