Awesome idea, kev. *Totally non patronising thumbs up*

I shall use this first post to say, regarding corrie of course, that i think Joe is a great character: feels realistic, like someone you would know, seems increasingly interesting as well, played by one of the most capable actors in soap at the moment!

Have you been a loyal Corrie fan for long?

Who is Joe? I can't place him.
Was he Hopkirk (deceased) that got on the wrong side of Tony's laundry basket?

Sorry, prob should have said , Joe is tinas dad, you know, the guy with depression? i like the character because he feels real, and easy to relate to for some reason - its helped that he is played by an excellent actor.

and p.s., i think thats JED STONE your thinking of there

I like Joe but I will never forget him stupidly punching a wall and then wailing.

this might be being discussed on another thread so if so apologies. But what I'd like to discuss is what do the writers intend for some of the characters regarding some current and potential storylines? EG Ken and Deirdre, if or rather when she finds out about Martha, will they split up again? Will it be for good? Or will she forgive him? And if the hidious rumours of an affair between Molly and Tyrone are true (so unrealistic, Molly is not the type to cheat), does this spell the end of their marriage, not to mention the Websters marriage? Presumably the writers have all this planned out in the long term?

I'm going to buck the trend and say I don't like Joe. It may well be his depression that makes him so iritating in which case I apologise for not being sympathetic.

I find him dull and rather uninspiring. His temper tantrums annoy me as well. I also hold him responsible for two cardinal sins:

firstly introducing us to the Windasses; and

secondly the re-emergence of the simpering, flirty Gail!

That said, I can't criticise the actor.

I find the horrendous flirty Gail preferable to flirty Natasha.

Poor Joe keeps looking as though he can't believe what he has got himself into, which isn't hard to understand.

But this week I vote to Slap Peter. He's crying now, but a lot of use that is.

And Hug Simon for being brave and sensible, unlike nearly everyone else in his family.

Hug Maria because she has a sexy bum, Slap Peter for leaving the battery out of the smoke alarm.

This is as good a place as any to ask about the bookies flat:

Is this the same flat that Todd and Sarah lived in? I know the layout has changed completely and there are now two bedrooms instead of the one that I recall, but is it supposed to be the same flat?

As an aside, I've just watched Monday's episodes - loved the fire set to an 80's soundtrack!
