Finding Films on the HDR
When you use the "Find" function on the HDR, there is a maximum of 250 items it will return. When I've used this function to find what films are coming up (and set them to record) it always hits the 250 limit and only shows the next three of four days' worth. Repeats and the +1 channels contribute to this, but about half of them are due to all the BBC regions.
Today I deleted most of the BBC regions. Having done that, "Find" returned 207 films. If that's typical, there's a very good chance that once a week will suffice for my film hunt. I didn't delete all the regions because some films are not shown on all regions. Those that are may be shown at different times which may help avoid clashes. Further, a careful selection of regions to retain will improve the chance of being able to watch a third channel while the HDR is recording two others. In my case, I kept BBC1 Scotland, BBC1 Wales, BBC1 East (W) and BBC1 London in the 9xx range. I already have BBC1 Northern Ireland on 101. I also deleted BBC Northern Ireland from the 9xx range as I have that on 102. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are useful because they are the regions that have the greatest variations. BBC1 East (W) is useful because it is on the same transponder as BBC HD (BBC1 Channel Islands would do as well). If you should later wish to restore deleted channels, all you need to do is a freesat tune. In spite of what it says in the manual, this does not delete the recording schedule. |

It would be even better if it returned a result for the ITV

I can only assume that ITV don't send the Genre field in the metadata for the EPG on Freesat. Maybe someone who uses one of those PC EPG Viewer progs could confirm this? On Freeview, the Genre searches do come up with results for ITV, so if they can do it on Freeview, I don't see why they can't on Freesat. Rgds. Les. |

Yes, a Genre search for any category never comes up with any results for ITV on Freesat.
