Please help with my ipod :( it's frozen!

Hey, just wondering if anyone could help me

I plugged in my ipod nano (4GB not one of the new ones) to charge a few minutes ago, and some message came up saying it needs to be reformatted to work with windows (this has never happened before) I didn't know what to do so pressed cancel.

My ipod has now completely frozen, I have tried resetting it and it won't do it (it normally does when it freezes).

itunes now won't work properly either

Thank you for any help

This happened to me once with my ipod nano the 4GB model, I was not able to reset it either and it wouldnt turn off, eventually the power ran down. When I plugged it in to recharge it I was then able to reset it. I actually found that the nano seemed to freeze a lot, much more than any ipod ive ever had before. I got a classic about 1 yeat ago and I can count on less than one hand the number of times I've had to reset it. I dont know if this is helpful or not.

When you say reset it did you mean holding down the middle and the play button so it reboots?

If you did then within Itunes if you click on your ipod you can pick an option of restore original settings, try that.
