I thought he was. Mind you I also had a hunch Rocky was. Probably because he's good looking haha

Not too surprised although can't see why it's news , it's not that big a deal , certainly not to warrant a long article!

Plus they've got it wrong , Lohit Series 3 was also openly gay so Howard isn't the first.

Good for him I suppose...

What's that article all about? It keeps saying no one had a problem with it as if thats major news, why should anyone have a problem?

Wheres the standard reply that these threads ALWAYS get from 10 people saying "does it matter ?"

I know exactly what I was thinking. I think some people are trying to make a point by not even commenting in it.

Sexuality shouldnt be a sensitive issue but when hese threads come up you can always sense the tension in the forum

"A source on the show revealed: "Howard didn't ever hide his sexuality. "

WTF?

I don't read the News Of The World, but I didn't think it was still this bad. Why is it news? Why is there a thread? Why do people care?

I don't understand how this is news Though I suppose it is nice to know a bit of personal background to each contestant.

What a nasty article that is. There's a heavy implication that it's some terrible secret he's been hiding.

I think it's relevant that peole say it doesn't matter. It's as newsworthy as saying "Howard wears shoes".

Personally I hope they all keep their sexuality well-hidden for the duration of the show.

Especially the heterosexuals, judging by previous years

Where are all the articles outing the 'straight' contestants?

Howard's sex preference is unlikely to affect his chances of becoming Sir Alan's next £100,000 Apprentice.

I can't believe they put the above quote in print! Who the hell is that aimed at??

edit: I also see they called Ruth Badger a lesbian :s

Sorry but these comments are slightly absurd. I am trying not to be offensive but, and I also hate statistics lol but around 11% of the population are apparently gay.

Now is 89% of everyone did not wear shoes, usuing your analogy, and Howard happened to wear shoes in the Apprentice, there would probably be a thread on the fact that he wears shoes. Do you not think this is correct?

And the comment by Sid is just weird

But what bearing does Howard's sexual orientation have on anything?

Why does it matter whether he's straight or gay?

What interest is it to anyone?

So long as being gay keeps being seen as something that needs reporting because it's different and seen as gossip, it will always be seen as 'wrong' by certain people.

11% of Britain is quite a lot of people. So Howard's gay? Let it go.

It is not something I need to 'let go'.

First of all 11% is quite clearly a minority which is why I disagree with the post of someone saying "when is anyone going to out the straight contestants" Because when someone is in a minority for whatever reason, it becomes more interesting and people feel a need to point it out.

I am interested in their backgrounds and them as people, sexuality is part of a person. Dont tell me to let anything go as it is my opinion on this topic

It never even occurred to me that Howard was gay and I am quite surprised, but then I was about George Michael too, I have no gaydar at all. Maybe because I don't care, it isn't something I think about.

I feel a bit bad for Howard, I wouldn't like my sexuality discussed rather than my personality, it is insulting. But I guess all of them will have any details of their lives that the press consider titilating revealed at some point, they all know the score.

The 'let it go' comment wasn't meant to be directed at yourself, more at at the media and their obsession with outing individuals.

We've come so far over the years in making homosexuality socially acceptable. Indeed, so many of our favourite celebrities are gay. But by treating the word 'gay' like a label and regarding homosexuality as something that needs to be exposed and treated as something that acts as a hindrance to a person, articles such as this undo so much of this hard work.

And I still maintain that 11% is quite a large proportion of people who share something in common. We're talking millions.
