I'm sure Sir Alan would approve of this.....
Known on Digital Spy as "Judge Dread", on Betfair as "The Kitten" - I was diagnosed with Leukeamia in November 2008. I hope that some of you remember my posts supporting Rachel last year.
Well my friends at Betfair are organising a Charity Poker Tournament - see below. Full details of time and date unknown at the moment but 50% of the stakes will be DOUBLED by Betfair and the total donated to Leukaemia Care. It would be great to have some support from my friends at Digital Spy. Maybe Rachel could even join in? Some basic info below:- The Kitten Charity Poker Tourney Just before Xmas 2008, Betfair Forumite, Big Brother Guru, and Specials Poker Team Star Player in Battle of the Forums "The Kitten", aka Chris, was diagnosed with Leukaemia. You can read about his "coming out" and some of the messages of support here...... http://site.forum.betfair.com/jive3/...Name=Leukaemia Some of his virtual friends on the Betfair forums suggested a fundraising event for a charity of Chris' choice, and The Kitten Poker Tourney was conceived. Chris has chosen the charity Leukaemia Care for the tourney now scheduled for xxxxxxxx7:30pm on xxxx 2009xxxxxxxxx The tourney is being held on Betfair Poker, and is being pitched at everyone, whether you are a poker regular, or whether you are a complete donk like Chris and the rest of the Specials crowd. It's not going to break the bank, after all everyone's a winner on Betfair aren't they, as it will be a $20 entry fee, with $10 going to the prize pool, and $10 going to Leukaemia Care. In addition, Betfair will match the donation pool (thanks Betfair), doubling up the amount that is raised for charity. Also, the top xxx players as well as receiving their share of the prize pool will also receive an entry into a $$$ GTD tourney. In addition to the prize pool, there is a merchandise bounty on The Kitten - and a couple of other players!.......take one of them out and you will receive a entry into a $$$$$ GTD tourney For those of you wanting to make an additional donation (whether anonymously or using your forum/poker name or using your real name.....its up to you), go to www.justgiving.com/thekitten ........anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. Registration for the tourney will open one week beforehand - even if you're watching Corries or footy on TV, or playing an MTT on Betfair Poker, you can still show your support by playing this tourney at the same time. Put the date in the diary now. Finally, please please please spread the word - could all you poker players mention the tourney at your tables, and an occasional mention in whatever forum each of you is active in will help to boost the numbers. |

I don't know how to play poker, but I hope all goes well for you.
And I absolutely love BB9 Rachel to bits too! She's my favourite reality contestant of all-time, and I'm serious. And to think, we'll probably not see anybody like her on reality TV ever again. I'd be so happy if someone from this year's apprentice could be even remotely like her.Anyway, I hope it all goes very well for you. |

Yes I remember last year on the forum as a non-Rachel fan....and some of your posts amongst others who probably dreaded my contributions
![]() ![]() But that said, I've always respected you as a forum member and always value your posts whether or not I agree with them. But more than that, my aunt died with leukemia aged 29. That is enough for me to want to contribute a donation. Good luck with it JD.....and the very best of health to you.
