On Sky HD you could watch and record channel 4HD without an HD subscription, which you can't on freesat, so enough of the petty remarks
once you cancel down, channel 4HD will be available but you won't be able to record :P without a sub it becomes a dusty doorstopper I can watch and record channel 4hd on my humax for free though ![]() and i'm not renting what I record either

Why do threads involving Sky and Freesat have to degenerate into a "my box has more channels/can record more than yours" slanging match? If you only want a few HD channels, then go with freesat, if you want more, then sky is for you. Now ITV HD is becoming avalible on Sky HD boxes, albeit just to view and not record, it just means that Sky uses need not bother with Freesat

Agreed, both offer different levels of choice to suit everyone's budget, no need for threads to invoke a reaction or responses to fuel it!

Enough already, stop !!!!
Not another Sky vs Freesat flame. This is the Freesat+ forum, to discuss issues of interest and pertaining to Freesat+ PVRs, of which there is only one - the Humax Foxsat HDR. Certainly nothing to do with Sky HD boxes. Les. |

either Dragon CAM or diablo cam will work
![]() you have to stick (none sub) sky card into a regular box every now and again ( we normally do that every 3 - 4 weeks for a few hrs ) but it works no problem ![]() google them or theres a load on ebay around 60 - 70ish |

I will post back here as soon as I have received my new Sky viewing cards and tried them in my Dragon/TRex CAMs in my non Sky boxes. I mainly use my Sky cards in CAMs for holiday use with my camping satellite dish. |

freesat hd channels
having today just recieved and installed humax freesat pvr i am very dissapointed at the lack of channels available , i actualy visited this forum this minute to see if there was anything about c4hd (as in the tv guide says a place in the sun home or usa is in hd , but when i tried to set it to view it is not available in hd !) and the first thread i see includes comments about c4, why is c4 , which gets some funding from the licence fee only available on sky ?= we are paying twice !!!

If you are that disappointed perhaps you should have done a little more research on the limited channels on freesat before making your purchase as this has all been well posted across the internet since before freesat launched. The situation will change eventually but when is NOT known at present. |

When Sky stop forcing you to subscribe to their service so that you can use the box you bought for what it is, a PVR, then and only then can the Sky+ people have a pop at the Freesat+ people. Of course without more and more people taking up the Freesat+ option the chances of Sky changing their policy is nil. Well done to everyone who has bought a Freesat+ box, we'll win the battle eventually. |

Let's be fair here, the OP started it. Look at me, look at me, I can now watch one of the channels that Freesat supporters banged on about when arguing over the merits of Freesat+ ove Sky+..
