I shouldn't laugh, really I shouldn't

Hansel had his castration today. Vet also removed his hind dew claws (they were just skin flaps with nails) and retained baby teeth.

So, poor Han has an 'Elisabethan' collar, hind legs wrapped in purple vet-wrap, off his head on pain killers and no testicles.

He is feeling a bit sorry for himself

He won't come out of his crate, I had to hold his bowl at dinner (which he wolfed down like he hadn't been fed for weeks). When I took him out for a toilet, he just leaned against the wall.

Poor boy. But he does look silly

Ahh StressMonkey, poor Hansel - he's probably wondering what happened .

Aww bless him..don't you feel so sorry for them when they are poorly..(and don't they know exactly how to play us for sympathy )..sounds like he is really in the wars though

He's a bit brighter today

Well, he's now come out of his crate. Actually walked to the door for his toilet instead of having to be carried. He's 'mincing' a bit though

I'm charging up my camera so I'll post a pic later.

Poor thing. Mine was castrated, had a hernia removed and was microchipped all at the same time. He was sort-of swaying about and wouldn't sit down but perked up within a day or two. Hansel will be back to his normal self in no time, I'm sure!

Poor Hansel ~ he's lovely. Barney was castrated as an adult & got over it very quickly. He didn't try to lick at the wound at all so hopefully Hansel will recover quickly too. I suspect the dew claws will be worse than the castration but at least it was all done at once.

Hope he feels better soon.

My boy was castrated , Had dew claws removed and microchipped at the same time.
This is a pic from the day after. His bandages had fallen off but you can just see the marks on his legs.

The towel was because he was a little incontinant after for a couple of days.
