I recently purchased this and am very pleases especially what little HD there is
I have two queries if any one can help, I have tried to use the manual but its pretty useless.
1. How do you mark a station as favourite using the guide
2. How do you schedule series recording.

Also If I am in none freesat mode, will it still record freesat scheduled recordings?

1 if you press the opt+ button on the channel you are viewing this adds it to your favs..
2In the epg select the programme you wish to record and press the Ok button this enables the series link option if it is available
for the box to record the freesat schedule it needs to change from non-freesat mode If you are watching in non-fs mode prior to the scheduled recording by 15 mins the box will prompt you to switch modes. If however you switch to non-fs mode within 15 mins of the fs schedule it will fail to record.
Leaving the box in non-fs mode in standby should not be problematic as the box wakes up a T-15 to check the epg and will change modes automagically

What an educational experience it is being in this forum! I keep learning something new each time I visit.
The implication from the advice above is that when you are recording something in Freesat mode you can't watch anything in Non-Freesat mode. Is that true?

Correct, by going to non-freesat mode you are turning off the features needed to record freesat programmes. The two modes are exclusive of each other.

You need to have nothing on the screen except for the picture when you press the opt+ button.

You also need to be in freesat mode. Favourites are not available in non-freesat mode.

That explains a lot, I was trying it in non freesat mode, it does save to favourites but no idea how
I tried it in freesat mode and it gave the pop box and to save. - how do you access favourties, sorry manual is absolute shite, excellant box though.

In non-freesat mode it creates a list of favourites automatically from the channels that you visit.

As for using the favourites in freesat mode Press the ok button then the green button to select favourites then press green again to switch "Auto" to "Favourite 1", "Favourite 2" etc.
