Brilliant interview - will miss them both. The ending does sound exciting though.

Cribbins - quite possibly the best bit of casting for a supporting role since the series returned, delighted he'll be back, god bless Wilf what a great character brilliantly acted throughout, both the funny and sad bits. I still find some of his performance during Turn Left quite distressing and moving, particularly when the army come to remove the immigrants...one of the finest bits of acting in a long long time.

There is actually, he was seen at some event the same week with his normal hair colour.

There could be another bleach-blonde haired person on the crew, doesn't prove it's him enough for me anyway to get my home hopes up.

^a clearer zoom of the face at a better angle, I've reversed it aswell just incase it helps.

Plus Eve looks quite yummy as usual in those shots of filming for children of earth:

John Simm is a brilliant actor he was just let down by the terrible script in Last Of The Time Lords. Since we're being promised a much darker story this time, hopefully RTD has had time to make the character clamer, more sinister, etc instead of some pantomine loving villain stereotype.

Can't argue with a word of that, Ash, especially the bit I've highlighted.

We can only hope...

I loved John Simm as the Master, and I loved his protrayel and the way RTD had written him....
He was a direct equal to Tennant's Doctor....that craziness and buffon type behaviour is nothing more than an act....although the Master was sufferring from some kind of trauma, hence the sound of drums he could hear.....altogther he was more sinister and unpredictacble, unlike the the Classic Masters....who ere equally pantominey at times too....but anyway, the way Simm's Master danced to the song, the way he wanted to have power over the Doctor, the way he obvouisly beat up Lucy, the way how in his head he was helping the toclafane- the future humans with no hope....the way he got slightly worried when he turned the Doctor into that dobby thing, before he emerged from the clothes....and they way he refused to regenerate.....knowing that this would be the final way to hurt the Doctor....even though in all his lives he has done nothing more than make sure that he survived....
I may be in the minority....but Simm's Master was very tastely evil.....

I agree Crazzy, and it was that childlike lunacy that made him all the more scary. His character was on a par with giving a very young child a gun and seeing what it did with it. He was random, without any morals and totally unpredictable. That is way more frightening than someone who is categoricallly ruthless and menacing.

I can see why some people saw JS's Master as a pantomime villain, but I agree the unpredictability made him really scary - you just didn't know what he would do next and how he would react to any given situation. The hints of the way he treated Lucy off camera made me very uneasy... I do think JS is fantastic actor!

We can only hope not. The whole point of the Master is not that he's Roger Delgadso or someone doing a Delgado impression its that he's the Doctor's dark opposite.

Ironically it's the people who say they want that old style of Master are the ones who are looking for a pantomine villain stereotype.

That's a Lie! *blanks out AA's Master and Eric Robert's Master* On a serious note though, the only reason I can think of The Master becoming soo childlike in the new series is because of his new Regeneration Cycle. If we follow what he says as true, the Simm's Master is only his second Incarnation in his new cycle (and this is where New and Old Regeneration Cycles get confusing) So maybe the new Cycle brought out some changes in his personality, or maybe because it's the first new Regenerated body of the cycle (in the way Doctor 2 is more giddy and childlike compared to Doctor 1).

Hang on that is Neil Morrisy with him. Sorry if I have missed all the talk, but do we know how he is brought back. Was he really a version of the doc then?

Bezmina is just showing a side picture of John Sims face to compare to the pic, which funnily enough has David Morrisey in the pic too, its a funny strange old world!

Oh dear!

I am so sorry but this news just sets my teeth on edge.

I did not enjoy JS as the Master, nothing to do with the actor JS himself.

I did not connect to him or the character. I was disappointed, but to this day I can not tell you why.

Too be honest, I still have not got over the feeling of being let down by Journey’s End.

With JE, for the 2nd time since RTD, I was a stupid kid all over again (I am a 44yr old grown man with children), to wait a whole week to find out what next!

The resolution! Gutted!

(For the record the first time was Bad Wolf/ The Parting of the Ways)

My wife “a not wee” thought it was fantastic, and she was correct, it was not made for me, as she said “but imagine what it must have been like for a 10/12/13 year old!”

Since that day I have learnt to enjoy JE not through my eyes but the 11yr old in me.

So having learnt from the above, I await the 10th Doctors regeneration and the 11th‘s Arrival with trepidation, and deep sense of “oh boy!” here we go again.

Though it seems to have slipped most people's notice RTD confirms that Simm is returning in his Time Out interview.

Q He’s (Simm's) back now.
A 'Is he? I don’t know. Stop it, you’re bad. He hasn’t been spotted by anyone filming yet, so how can he be? Ha ha! I’d give that a few more days to be honest…'
