So should Yasmina win because of her PM skills?

The answer is probably....if that is what the show is down to.

At least so far.

However, if her own skill set as a restaurater is to go by....then she should be out of business tomorrow IMHO.

So what are we to judge this show on.....and what is Sir Allan judging it on. Mind you, not that our opinion matters

So I just hope that if Sir Allan sees this catering disaster as a contender in his sights, then he at leasts sets her scopes way off anything to do with healthy 'keeping yourself alive' type foods.

Although it pains me to admit it, her organisational/managerial skills were fairly impressive. I suspect she was endowed with a great deal of confidence on that particular task because it specifically dealt with a specialist subject which she had experience in ie food. Whether or not this is a flash in the pan remains to be seen. I'll be particularly interested to see how she fairs (from a managerial perspective) in other tasks.

Well put it this way, if the candidate in question is a lawyer, physicist, academic type their days with the lovely Alan Sugar are numbered.....

I suspect that she comes from the same ruthless sales school as many across the country.

She is no different from the cut throw expectations that is expected from these sales people.

And that is what she applied................i.e. cut throat leadership skills.

As for her real talent in the catering trade.......it is either comedic or verging on poisoning us very slowly

The ones with the least qualifications seems to always win this show.

She was good but it's far too early to tell. Also, I guess it's not impossible to manage a restaurant without being a chef but the food those girls produced stretches that theory to breaking point!!!

Far too early to tell.... she doesn't exactly strike me as a people's manager and as others will be getting stronger and more confident in the game, there might be conflicts ahead and I'll be curious to see how she'd manage those.

For the moment I'm not feeling sympathetic towards her as I think there's something really cold and hard about her.

Yasmina been one of the stronger candidates so far. She was part of Mona's group(who made more money than the others) when the girls split up and was PM for the latest task which she won. She can be criticised for the quality of her service but she was a far better PM than Rocky and delivered an efficient team and a profit. It is early days and no one has really stood out so far but she deserves some credit for the first two shows.

I agree, far too early to tell. She also needs to brush up on her people skills. She turned into a nazi as soon as she was given the role and there's absolutely no need to be so rude to people like that. You don't get the best out of people by talking to them like crap.

The rest of the team seemed to be very happy with her as a project manager, so I think she did a good job on that front...

just cos her team won it was by luck rather than judgement. they all seem to be a bunch of nodding dogs this year - not wanting to rock the boat.

time will tell.

Rocky had the least qualifications this year and he was fired second lol

I don't think he bases his decisions on any qualifications tbh.

I think Philip will win but I want Howard to win.

In that task Yasmina looked like she was in her comfort zone but a 200 per cent profit can't be argued with. Considering she done it by selling crap, I bet Suralan Sugar must love her!

I think like most others seem to that it's far too early to tell. It is rare(ish) I reckon to get strong leaders on the earlier tasks in particular, so it does point in her favour. I remember Katie being a good leader in Week 2 and she (whether you're a fan or not) had a pretty good innings. But leadership skills are only one of the qualities. Lucinda was largely praised for her management skills, but those weren't enough in the end. Though I think Yasmina comes across as the sort of personality more likely to fit into Amstrad.

Surely the title of the thread ought to be "Should Yasmina lose because of her lack of PM skills?"...... that being the case, then YES, YES, YES!!!!

Certainly about 50% of previous candidates would have taken a gift like that and messed it up. As indeed Rocky did.

However, it was within her area of expertise so she just had to tell everyone what to do and they did it. I don't recall seeing her take on board suggestions from the team, or needing to fix problems, so it's hard to tell how well she'd do outside of her comfort zone.

Regarding the ruthless sales school I am guessing that would refer to one off transactional type selling...double glazing etc but all the most successful sales and marketing people are good relationship builders with 2 ears and 1 mouth + strategic skills and intelligence. The apprentice contestants would not last 5 minutes in most companies but unfortunately as its Siralan and the traits appreciated are dog eat dog, ego over ability and ruthless ambition.

The thing about Lucinda is that, while she was good as project manager, she tended to be a bit difficult when she was working under someone else. That's not something we've seen yet with Yasmina, though it is of course early days.
